2005 Audi A4 2.0 Tdi 140 possible faulty injector that needs replacing
Hi
I have 2005 (55 plate) Audi A4 2.0 Tdi 140 S-Line, the car would vibrate and shake at idle and I was told it was the flywheel. I had the clutch and flywheel changed however this didn't resolve the issue. The car has now also occasionally started giving a few problems starting up. I have been told it's probably one of the injectors. I have ordered a new injector which will be delivered in a few days times. What I would like to know is how can check which injector it is and also is this a job I can do at home, someone mentioned I also need a torque wrench to tighten the bolts to a specific torque. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi,
I have moved your thread so you will get more responses. I believe you can get a read out of the values with VCDS but not sure how.

Then there's the double trouble oil pump drive to sort , BLB ?

Sorry been away for a week, you mentioned something about the oil pump drive without elaborating on it. Could you please tell me more as I haven't changed the injector yet and any advice would be most welcome. As mentioned by someone else I do occasionally get smoke on start up but not all the time. I will try adding some of that injector cleaner into the fuel tank to see if it makes any difference.

You should have got hold of vcds or had someone else do some diagnostics before buying the injector, it could be the wiring harness that needs changing, tandem pump, in tank lift pump, worn cam, you've already shelled out for a flywheel and clutch that maybe didn't need changing. If it is an injector fault it should show up which injector with vcds in idle stabilisation and injection quantity, also check torsion values. has your mpg dropped off noticeably ?

Thanks mate, i cancelled the order for the injector as I wanted to be sure it needs replacing before buying it. I will try to get someone with vcds to check it and diagnose it properly. Will keep u guys updated and once again thanks for the help.

I did a a4 once for the same kind of reason thinking it was the flywheel but still happened.
It turned out to be near side drive shaft there is a bearing on box with a plate holding it in.
It's about £11 from tps
