A4/B6 1.8T Immobilizer Disabling
Hi,
I have transplanted an Audi 1.8T front wheel drive into a mid engined sports car I am building. http://s764.photobucket.com/albums/x...r/Lotus%2023B/
The engine will not run as to many systems are missing (ABS, airbags, etc). Diagnostics produced "17978 - Engine Start Blocked by Immobilizer P1570 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent", among warnings about the missing systems.
What do I need to disable the immobiliser myself or is this something that only an ecu tuner can do?
Regards
Glenn

The immobiliser is part of the dash panel insert (Instrument cluster)

I am aware of this. It is another reason to disable the immibiliser as I also do not want the dash.

You won't be able to do this yourself. We can do it for you for £60.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, this is what I thought. The price sounds great apart from the shipping to the UK and back is about double that.

Glenn.

Hi Glenn
I've sent things across to Oz many times and for an ECU it's about £15 insured, and took around 4 days. I guess the time isn't a killer in this instance, so the offer is there should you change your mind :)
Cheers

Hi Stark,
The car I am building will weigh less than 600kg on the road. As part of the build strategy I am planning to increase the performance of the motor to a more respectable figure. As the car is a lot lighter than standard, the final trim will have a very short free flowing exhaust, more than a standard ecu upgrade will be required. I have looked at your web site and some of what you are offering looks interesting. In addition to the immobiliser disable, what do you have that you could recommend and what would the costs likely to be. I do have a vac-com setup, so I can send you diagnostic output.
There are a few photo's of the build at http://s764.photobucket.com/albums/x...r/Lotus%2023B/

Glenn.

That's a very interesting build you have there Glenn :D
Which version of the 1.8T are you using, and what is the current output? If you like you can drop me an email directly on the company address, which is on the website.

Ben
