Re: 2003 1.9 TDS A4 where my fuel pump relay and what numbers are on it?
I’ve now changed the relay in position J17 under the ecu .
Still no diesel pumped.
When I turn on the ignition the relay clicks and again when I turn it over.
i assumed then that the pump must be the problem but I pulled the connector of the top of the pump in the boot to check for voltage and to confirm my suspicions. I’m not getting any voltage with ignition on or engine turning over .
What can I now check next to get current to the boot?
any help much appreciated
cheers

Put 12v to the pump and see if it works.

check the fuse in the side pod see if you get voltage out of the back of the fuse carrier.

Hi Kite and Nevo
I ran a separate feed from the battery to the pump and it worked perfectly.
I knew then I had an issue with the supply and as I had already replaced the relay I went back to the fuses. It turned out that the fuse Locations don’t actually corellate to the drawing in the hand book ! There were none that appeared blown but some were certainly the incorrect amp rating .
I then set about identifying each location and putting in the correct fuse. I never found a blown fuse ( visibly checked) but once I had done it and then connected my meter to the pump connector I got voltage !
connected up everything and bled the system and now running like a mouses watch .
Thanks very much much for your help guys .
very much appreciated
