    Re: ABS Sensor Issue

Yeah, you can fit a new abs sensor and a hub bearing abs ring assembly without having to use VCDS or anything after.

Re: Sachs or LUK for DMF/clutch?

Ended up getting LuK flywheel, clutch and release kit from Italian seller for UKP268 inc delivery, which I thought was ok. Arrived in a week.

    Re: Wheels

It's a bit of a late reply, but it might help some. My D3 W12 sport quattro with 255/40/19 needed new tyres. They are quite expensive, but I found

    Re: ABS Sensor Issue

I am going to ask a dumb question - is it just a case of fitting new sensor & bearing - ie There is no fancy coding stuff to do with the ECU'S etc

Update - right, that’s the lock out! Couple of hours work but I managed it. Checked the part number on the lock itself & now searching the interweb

    Re: Awaiting ship...

What would infuriate me is the additional cost of road tax due to the increase in road tax. It’s probably at least an extra 700.

Re: Touran Rear Right Abs Wiring Problem - have VCDS codes - Wire colours?

I listed all the 4 fault codes above in previous posts, the 2 that were originally existent and the extra 2 that came up with the sensor disconnected.

New socket arrived - however it was the same as the halfords version in appearance ( not sure about material strength however) . To support the breaker

Re: How to determine correct wheel bearing size

Just as well I did not go with my string approach . Finally got the bearing off and measured - it is a 30mm bore !! Parts ordered

    Found it.

One of the little gromets that the rear light cluster pushes into had fell through behind the boot wall liner

    Re: Low torque wrench?

You can use a luggage or fisherman's "spring balance" at the right position to get a decent approximation too.

    Re: Low torque wrench?

Yeah, that sounds a decent rule of thumb - thanks. If I'm tightening up something like, say, a bolt holding down the cam cover or (as I did a few days

    Re: Low torque wrench?

For a lot of parts I use a normal socket and gauge how much force to apply by using the guide that 15Nm is equivalent to applying 10cm along the wrench

Re: Touran Rear Right Abs Wiring Problem - have VCDS codes - Wire colours?

The connectors in the engine can be a swine to release. If you can get a half decent grip make sure you're pressing the release bit firmly and jiggle
