Introducing a new naming designation, a more defined road presence and even greater performance

    • More power and torque for the V10 naturally aspirated engines
    • 570PS quattro and 620PS performance quattro version
    • Available as a Coupé and Spyder from market launch
    • Modified suspension components for even more dynamic handling
    • Striking exterior design includes a wider, flatter Singleframe grille
    • UK ordering expected to open in early 2019

“Born on the track, built for the road.” This intrinsic Audi Sport philosophy rings particularly true in the case of the new R8, which is set to take to the road in early 2019 featuring a raft of changes, but also two important constants – retention of the much loved naturally aspirated V10 petrol engine, and suffusion with a sizeable dose of racing DNA achieved by sharing 50 per cent of components with the R8 LMS GT3 competition car revealed recently at the Paris Motor Show. Highlights of the latest R8 range include more power, torque and performance, including a first foray beyond the 200mph mark for several versions, and even greater handling precision thanks to suspension and steering revisions.

The power of the naturally aspirated V10 engine at the heart of the R8 is now uprated to 570PS in the ‘standard’ R8 Coupé and Spyder V10 quattro. The top V10 plus versions in each body style will in future carry the name ‘V10 performance’, aligning them with the most powerful models elsewhere in the Audi Sport range, and have also benefited from a power upgrade to 620PS. The four versions will go on sale in Europe in early 2019.

“The R8 occupies a unique position for Audi in every respect,” says Michael-Julius Renz, Managing Director of ...

    • The new T-Cross1): a versatile and practical SUV model in the small car class
    • An urban crossover vehicle with masculine design
    • Four efficient turbocharged engines – three petrol and one diesel – meeting the Euro 6d-Temp emission standard

World premiere in Amsterdam, Shanghai and Săo Paulo: Volkswagen presents its new T-Cross, the company’s first small SUV, and thereby resolutely continues the SUV product offensive it began in 2015. This new model will soon be debuting in the markets of three continents with its combination of style, practicality, flexibility, connectivity and economy, and setting new standards for its class as it goes. The urban crossover model reveals itself to be an ideal companion in everyday life and beyond.

With the T-Cross, Volkswagen introduces another new SUV model: even shorter and therefore better suited to the city than the T–Roc, and even more compact than the Tiguan. Ralf Brandstätter, Chief Operating Officer of Volkswagen Brand, explained at the world premiere in Amsterdam: “We’re actually presenting the T-Cross today three times over! We unveiled it a few hours ago in Shanghai, and Săo Paulo will follow later tonight. It shows just how important the T-Cross is to the Volkswagen brand as a truly global product.”

The new T-Cross is a cool companion for all occasions

The T-Cross is based on the modular transverse matrix (MQB), which allows the driven front axle to be located well forward. With a total vehicle length of 4.11 metres, the 2.56-metre wheelbase is comparatively generous, allowing a spacious interior with enough room for five people. For the greatest ...

Potent 300PS version of compact class SUV to be unveiled at the 2018 Paris Motor Show

    • New S model with output of 300PS; 0 to 62mph in 4.8 seconds
    • Available to order in the UK in late 2018, first deliveries early 2019
    • Striking exterior design, S-specific interior accents
    • Body lowered 20 millimetres, 18 and 19-inch wheels

Striking design meets driving exhilaration: Audi is presenting the SQ2 for the first time during the 2018 Paris Motor Show. The new top model in the Q2 family is a titan in the compact SUV segment, with a 300PS output channelled through S sports suspension and quattro all-wheel-drive which enables zero to 62mph acceleration in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 155mph. The Audi SQ2 is also at the forefront in the class where infotainment and assistance systems are concerned.
    0 – 62mph in 4.8 seconds: the engine

The heart of any Audi S model is the engine, and the 2.0 TFSI in the SQ2 is in peak condition. Developed by Audi engineers and built in Győr, it delivers 300PS and a constant 400 Nm (295.0 lb-ft) of torque between 2,000 and 5,200 rpm. As a result it can dispatch the sprint from 0 to 62mph in 4.8 seconds, and power on to a governed 155mph top speed.

The four-cylinder, 1,984 cc unit responds instantly up to the redline at 6,500 rpm. In the dynamic mode offered by the Audi drive select dynamic handling system, it responds even more directly, with brief double de-clutching accompanying the gear changes by the S tronic and a particularly sonorous engine note. The engine weighs only around 150 kilograms, benefiting not only the all-up weight of the Audi SQ2, but also the axle load distribution.

Numerous high-tech features hone the profile of the powerful four-cylinder. The intake and exhaust camshafts are adjustable to optimise fill and gas exchange. On the exhaust side, the Audi valvelift system (AVS) adjusts ...

Testament that with LEGO Technic you can build for real, this non-glued, fully-functional and self-propelled LEGO Technic model can fit two passengers inside and accelerate to over 20km/h

Perfectly recreating the organic design lines of the world’s fastest production car – the iconic Bugatti Chiron1 – the LEGO Technic life-size model pushes the boundaries of what LEGO builders imagined was possible to build in LEGO elements.

The model is the first large scale movable construction developed using over 1,000,000 LEGO Technic elements and powered exclusively using motors from the LEGO Power Function platform. Packed with 2,304 motors and 4,032 LEGO Technic gear wheels, the engine of this 1.5 tonnes car is generating 5.3 horse power and an estimated torque of 92 Nm.

Lena Dixen, Senior Vice President of Product and Marketing at the LEGO Group said:

“This life-size model is a first of its kind in so many ways and with it, we wanted to push the boundaries of our own imagination. For over 40 years, LEGO Technic has allowed fans of all ages to test their creativity with a building system that challenges them to go beyond just creating new designs, to also engineering new functions. Our Technic designers and the engineers from the Kladno factory in the Czech Republic, the place which also builds the impressive models for LEGO Stores and LEGOLAND parks, have done an amazing job both at recreating the Chiron’s iconic shapes and making it possible to drive this model. It’s a fascinating example of the LEGO Technic building system in action and its potential for creative reinvention.” ...
