    • Produced at Bentley’s home in Crewe - the world’s first carbon neutral factory for luxury car production

The Bentley Flying Spur – hailed as “the best luxury sedan in the world” – is now available with Bentley’s renowned and highly successful V8 powertrain, as an alternative to the iconic W12.

Research from the last ten years shows a significant shift in the usage of the Flying Spur from chauffeur-driven owners to customers driving themselves with passengers accompanying them. Global research (including two customer clinics in America and China) also demonstrated that over 40 per cent of customers travel with rear seat passengers at least once a week. This data has been used to develop the latest iteration of the new four door grand tourer, focusing on the driver experience whilst retaining a cabin space that combines exquisite luxury with integrated latest-generation technology.

The Flying Spur V8 offers a more driver-centric experience via increased agility and a more characterful engine note, whilst benefiting from increased range between fuel stops and a reduction in CO2 emissions.

At the heart of the vehicle is Bentley’s 4.0-litre, twin turbocharged V8 engine, that produces a peak power of 550PS (542bhp, 404kW) and uses twin-scroll ...

    • Volkswagen’s global top-seller gets new trim line-up, design and tech
    • Enhanced Tiguan is more connected, stylish and efficient than ever
    • Y-shaped trim line-up lets buyers choose a luxury or sporting focus

The enhanced Volkswagen Tiguan has opened for order in the UK, with six engine and gearbox configurations available across four trim levels on the new-look, new technology, new-era SUV. The capable all-rounder is now enhanced with a refreshed trim line-up, powertrain innovations including twin-dosing and cylinder deactivation, safety-conscious technologies like IQ.Light LED matrix headlights, and a lower price. The hugely successful SUV now starts at £24,915 RRP OTR for the entry-level version: the Tiguan 1.5 TSI 130 PS 6-speed manual, which is priced £545 lower than its outgoing equivalent.

With over six million sold worldwide since its launch in 2007, the Tiguan is the leading light for Volkswagen’s success in SUVs, and is available in 80% of all countries. The brand’s top-selling model across the globe found 910,926 homes in 2019, and now enters the second phase of its second generation, with a fresh new look, new technology – including Volkswagen’s acclaimed IQ.Light LED Matrix headlights – and greater connectivity thanks to the MIB3 infotainment system, as well as improved convenience with touch-sensitive steering wheel controls for selected models.

A raft of new diesel engines brings twin-dosing technology, with dual-injected AdBlue, to significantly reduce nitrogen oxide emissions, while the 1.5-litre petrol engines feature cylinder deactivation technology, to boost fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 output by allowing the car to run on only two cylinders under certain loads.

    • New drivetrain options significantly expand choice for Arteon buyers
    • 2.0 TDI 200 PS becomes most potent engine available to order now
    • Entry price drops as 1.5 TSI 150 PS engine debuts in growing range

mpressive new engine options are today added to the Volkswagen Arteon range in the UK as the revised and extended premium class family of models gains its most potent power unit yet. In addition to the initial engine line-up announced last month, the revised Arteon fastback and new Arteon Shooting Brake can now be ordered with a muscular 200 PS 2.0-litre TDI.

The enhanced Arteon range is now available to order in no fewer than 26 configurations, split equally between 13 Arteon fastback and 13 Arteon Shooting Brake models, with new drivetrain options now available across both body styles. Three equipment lines remain available – SE Nav, Elegance and R-Line – with the range-topping 320 PS R models scheduled to arrive in the UK in 2021. An eHybrid powertrain will also debut in the Arteon fastback and Arteon Shooting Brake in due course.

The initial wave of engine and gearbox options in new Arteon opened for order last month and now Volkswagen is extending that selection significantly with, among much else, the arrival of the entry-level 1.5-litre 150 PS TSI engine in 6-speed manual gearbox form for the first time which further lowers the entry-level price for this already keenly priced model.

In fastback form, and when mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, the 1.5 TSI-equipped Arteon covers the 0-62 mph sprint in 8.9 seconds, and will reach a top speed of 137 mph. Depending on the trim chosen, the car is capable of up to 44.8 mpg (combined, WLTP). ...

    • Completely new engine management hardware and software
    • Increased compression ratio and peak cylinder pressure
    • Deactivated auxiliaries, such as the air compressor
    • Ball bearing turbocharger on the 770 hp engine

Scania’s constant quest to develop its V8 engines further continues into the 2020s – and the result is even more fuel efficient engines suited for the most demanding transportation tasks. These improvements made by Scania’s engineers are the outcome of passion, vast experience, limitless competence and lots of ingenious thinking. So, how do they do it?

“We build upon Scania’s vast V8 experience and continue to improve what gene-rations of skilled engineers have learnt, created and achieved before us,” says Göran Lindh, Chief Engineer for Scania’s V8 engines. “There are no quantum leaps, it is all about refining things and adding the latest technology. The new EMS enables a smarter and more advanced engine control software with higher accuracy. We can, for instance, calculate more precisely how much fuel that is needed and when.”

The EMS (Engine Management System) interact with the AMS (Aftertreatment Management System). They are both highly critical to meet the current and coming Euro 6 regulations re¬garding NOx and particles. (And not only when the truck is new, but also over time; the legal demand is at least seven years or 700,000 kilometres.)

Scania has added a new solution were AdBlue fluid is actually injected twice: once directly after the exhaust brake and a second dose at ...

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Lamborghini Urraco, unveiled at the Turin Motor Show in late October 1970. This model immediately stood out for having introduced technical solutions that were very innovative for the time, thanks to the contribution of engineer Paolo Stanzani, the technical father of the Urraco and Lamborghini’s Chief Technical Officer at the time. The styling of the project was entrusted to renowned designer Marcello Gandini, who in that period was principal designer for Carrozzeria Bertone.

The Urraco is a fast 2+2 coupé, with mid-mounted V8 rear engine and independent suspension, with MacPherson strut system on both front and rear, for the first time on a production car.

Initially presented with the 2.5-liter V8 delivering 220 hp at 7800 rpm and top speed of 245 km/h, the Urraco featured the double novelty of an 8-cylinder engine and distribution with a single overhead camshaft per bank. The technical refinement was completed by the use of
a “Heron chamber” engine head with flat inner part and the combustion chamber contained in a depression in the top of the piston. This solution combination made it possible to use a higher compression ratio without increasing the costs. Another novelty for Lamborghini was
the four Weber double-body 40 IDF1 type carburetors.

The production system for the car was another innovation, planned from the early stages of the project to be much less artisanal than the other Lamborghini models. The creation of the Urraco was attributed to an express wish of Ferruccio Lamborghini, ...

ŠKODA has announced final specifications and pricing for the fourth-generation Octavia vRS. The brand’s sporting flagship model has been an integral part of the ŠKODA line-up since 2001 and continues a tradition of performance models that stretches back nearly 50 years.

The Octavia vRS launches with a 245PS 2.0 TSI DSG model with prices starting from £31,495 OTR. Available in both hatch and estate body styles, the launch model is the first of a range of Octavia vRS models set to arrive over the coming months. Sant’Agata Bolognese, 7 October 2020 – Automobili Lamborghini has achieved a record September in terms of commercial results with 738 units delivered to customers in one month: its best September ever. A consistently positive trend over the last three months resulted in 2,083 units delivered to customers in the third quarter of 2020, illustrating the energy with which Lamborghini responded to a period of new challenges.

Despite a difficult year marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, Lamborghini has adopted opportunities to reorganize and manage business in the context of a new ‘normal’. Although the company was the first in the automotive sector to close production and offices, putting people safety first, a dynamic return to business following the seven weeks’ closure saw a rethinking of its medium-term business strategies.

The reopening saw the launch of three new models: the Huracan RWD Spyder, the Sián Roadster and the Essenza SCV12. The Italian super sports car company achieved important production milestones with 10,000 Urus and Aventador produced, as well as continuous growth on social media channels and the launch of a cultural project to support the country: With Italy, For Italy.

Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini says: “I’m extremely proud of these results: they affirm the excellent work we have done over the years, maintaining our position as a highly aspirational, desirable and robust brand in the automotive world.
    Our team overcame a

It sounds powerful and progressive – just as an Audi should.

Production of the Audi e-tron GT

The Audi e-tron GT is the brand’s first fully electric car to be built in Germany. The Gran Turismo will start rolling off the production line at Audi Böllinger Höfe at the Neckarsulm site at the end of 2020. The small-series production facility has been expanded, upgraded, and converted for its new role. The skilled craftsmanship from the previous facility has been retained and is supplemented by digital processes and smart technologies. During the expansion, production planners made use of new virtual methods. The tests of the work procedures on the assembly line and the logistic processes were conducted in the virtual domain for the first time, with container planning also performed with the help of VR technology.
