Milton Keynes – Volkswagen UK is adding another performance R model to its range as orders open for the T-Roc R. Majoring on versatility with its practical SUV bodystyle, the performance SUV delivers a 300 PS punch, with 400 Nm of torque on tap and a top speed of 155 mph. Prices for the newest member of the R family start at Ł38,450 RRP OTR.

The T-Roc R marks the first time the R department has applied its unique and acclaimed tuning talents to an SUV since the Touareg R50 of 2008. Eleven years of progress has delivered impressive results for R-branded performance SUVs – the T-Roc’s top speed of 155 mph and its 4.9-second 0-62 mph acceleration time are significantly quicker than the older Touareg’s.

UK customers will enjoy lightweight 19-inch Pretoria alloy wheels fitted to the T-Roc R as standard – an upgrade over the standard-fit 18-inch wheels fitted in other markets. The new R model also benefits from the option of Volkswagen’s Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) adaptive damper system at a cost of Ł695. It offers greater flexibility through a choice of multiple driving modes that alter the characteristics of the car.

The T-Roc R’s colour palette provides the most vibrant options of any R-badged model to date, with Energetic Orange, Turmeric Yellow, White Silver, Indium Grey, Deep Black, Pure White, Flash Red and the standout R-specific shade Lapiz Blue all available on the compact performance SUV. All are also offered in combination with a black roof, A-pillar and mirror housings.

    • SEAT brings another dimension to its largest SUV with the introduction of the sporty FR trim and the efficient plug-in hybrid powertrain
    • Thanks to its 13kWh battery pack, the Tarraco PHEV can offer an all-electric range of more than 50km* and reduced emissions of below 50g/km*
    • With a total output power of 245PS thanks to its 110kW/150PS gasoline engine and its 85kW/116PS electric engine, the Tarraco PHEV becomes the most powerful Tarraco within the range
    • The Tarraco also comes with novelties such as the functional coast-to-coast light and a larger 9.2’’ infotainment system
    • Both the FR trim and the PHEV powertrain will be available to order in 2020

SEAT is expanding the efficiency and desirability of the Tarraco, introducing plug-in hybrid powertrain technology and the sporty FR trim. The Tarraco plug-in hybrid is a demonstration of SEAT strategy towards electrification, which will include six electric and plug-in hybrid SEAT and CUPRA models until the beginning of 2021.

SEAT sold a record 369,500 vehicles in the first seven months of the year, with 55,200 vehicles sold in July alone, a 7.8% increase over 2018. The Tarraco is contributing to increase the company’s presence globally, and the introduction of both the FR trim and plug-in hybrid technology will be key components in achieving its targets.

“The Tarraco plug-in hybrid perfectly illustrates our move towards a more sustainable mobility, yet maintaining the dynamism and fun-to-drive, typical of any SEAT. The Tarraco will be one of the few options with a plug-in hybrid powertrain on the large SUV segment, and we believe that

    • Development almost complete: Volkswagen intensively testing new Golf1 with camouflaged prototypes
    • World premiere in autumn 2019: eighth Golf generation will be digital, intelligent and connected

A new Golf is rolling up to the starting grid, marking the eighth generation. The design and digital innovations launch this bestseller – of which more than 35 million have been built – into a new age: the era of electrified drives, a digitalised and connected interior world, assisted driving and online-based functions and services. The next generation of the Golf will shape the era with new impulses.

The camouflage lets onlookers identify that the black and white lines are disguising a five-door vehicle with powerful proportions. And it makes no secret out of the fact that it is a Golf – because its visual DNA is unmistakable. Anyone taking a closer look will also see that the “Golf” designation has been integrated into the camouflage. However, the camouflage does not reveal one element: the finer details of the new design. Klaus Bischoff, head of Volkswagen Design, about the vehicle: “At this time, we will not disclose all details of the new Golf, but you can already perceive its elegant proportions.” The head designer continues: “The next generation will be a genuine eye-catcher!” The countdown to the début of number eight has already begun: the new Golf will be celebrating its world premiere in autumn 2019.

    • All-electric e-Golf now costs from Ł27,575 RRP OTR1
    • Price revision further enhances the e-Golf’s value offering
    • Volkswagen’s electric cars are “For millions, not millionaires”

Volkswagen UK has reduced the price of the e-Golf to Ł31,075 RRP OTR, which equates to Ł27,575 after the Government’s Plug-In Car Grant. An OTR price reduction of Ł2,765 makes the e-Golf an even more value-friendly offering. This pure-electric family car combines the familiarity of the Golf and the assurance of Volkswagen quality with zero-emission mobility and low ownership costs.

The award-winning e-Golf has been a favourite among critics since its introduction in 2014, with a model-refresh in 2017 only drawing further acclaim. Its 144-mile range (WLTP certified) provides ample freedom for urban travelling, enough for a round trip from London to Brighton, while its smooth electric motor gives instant acceleration, with up to 136 PS and 393 lb ft of torque on tap.

Further sweetening the e-Golf package is the flexibility provided by a full 48-hour test drive, available on this model since mid-2019, which allows prospective customers to experience the e-Golf to its fullest potential, and watch it rise to the challenges thrown at it.

Volkswagen’s electric journey doesn’t start and finish with the e-Golf, however. The arrival of the ID.3 electric hatchback in 2020 will see Volkswagen’s much-anticipated electric vehicle plans come to fruition, built upon a purpose-built electric platform, the Modular Electric Drive Kit (MEB). ...

    • The ID.31 is the first fully electric model based on the new MEB platform
    • E-mobility is the key topic at Volkswagen exhibition stand at Frankfurt Motor Show, held from 10 to 22 September

Representing the realignment of the Volkswagen brand like no other model; the ID.3. In just a few days’ time, the first model from the new fully electric ID. family will celebrate its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA), with its ground-breaking design, greater ranges, impressive driving dynamics and spacious interior.

Electric mobility is the key topic at Volkswagen exhibition stand at this year’s IAA. Not only will the ID.3 be on show, but there will also be studies on other models in the ID. family forming part of the exhibition. They will follow on in rapid succession from the ID.3.

Like all other ID. models, the ID.3 is based on the new modular electric drive matrix (MEB), which has been specifically designed for electric drive use, ensuring the largest possible vehicle interior.

The ID.3 follows the Beetle and the Golf to introduce the third major chapter of strategic importance for the history of the Volkswagen brand. Back in mid-May, Volkswagen enjoyed a successful launch taking pre-bookings for the ID.3 1ST Edition, an exclusive special edition boasting fantastic levels of equipment, limited to a run of just 30,000 vehicles.

What is certain is that any concerns about battery range are a thing of the past with the ID.3. That's because the ID.3 has three different battery sizes available; a large battery (77 kWh net2), a medium-sized ...

    • ŠKODA KAMIQ rounds off the brand’s SUV family at the lower end
    • The youngest member of the ŠKODA model range offers an emotive design, compact dimensions, higher ground clearance and a great overall view
    • The city SUV is aimed at active, lifestyle-oriented customers

ŠKODA has added a third model to its successful SUV portfolio for the European market – the ŠKODA KAMIQ – entering the rapidly growing city SUV segment for the first time. The KAMIQ blends the typical advantages of this segment such as increased ground clearance and a raised seat position with the agility of a compact car and ŠKODA’s characteristic emotive design. With state-of-the-art assistance and infotainment systems, a generous amount of space and numerous Simply Clever features, the new KAMIQ equally fulfils the needs of both family- and lifestyle-oriented customers in true ŠKODA style.

ŠKODA AUTO CEO, Bernhard Maier, said, “By launching the ŠKODA KAMIQ, we are consistently pressing ahead with our SUV campaign and are perfectly rounding off our offering on the European market.”

The new KAMIQ continues the successful SUV design language of the KODIAQ and KAROQ SUVs, whilst the split headlights, which feature daytime running lights above the main headlights, create new, distinctive visual highlights. At 4,241 mm long, the ŠKODA KAMIQ is considerably more compact than both of its bigger SUV siblings. Combined with its raised seat position, this means it is perfectly equipped for the modern-day urban jungle. In typical ŠKODA style, the KAMIQ also sets benchmarks in the city SUV segment in terms of space.

“The name KAMIQ comes from the language of the Inuit people living in northern Canada ...

All-new RS 6 Avant gains more power from a V8 twin-turbo TFSI and adds MHEV drive and fully digital cabin integrating MMI Touch Response

    • Fourth generation high-performance Avant available to order in the UK from November 2019 and due for first customer deliveries in January 2020
    • 4.0 TFSI twin-turbo V8 with mild hybrid: high power meets high efficiency
    • 600PS, 800 Nm, 0 to 62mph in just 3.6 seconds

The concept of the super-fast Avant is more tightly woven into the Audi DNA than virtually any other hallmark of Vorsprung durch Technik, and that concept has been refined yet again in the creation of the new, fourth generation RS 6 Avant. Bristling with the technological accomplishments already delivered by the new A6 Avant, the latest addition to the Audi Sport fold combines formidable twin-turbo eight-cylinder TFSI power with state-of-the-art efficiency features including mild hybrid drive and cylinder-on-demand technology, helping to deliver epic performance as responsibly as possible.

“Throughout our 25-year RS history, the Audi RS 6 Avant is one of our absolute icons with a large global fan base,” says Oliver Hoffmann, Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH. “We will also be offering the RS 6 Avant in North America for the very first time. As such, we will be tapping into a new market with huge potential and generating further growth.”

Broad and powerful: the exterior design

With the exception of the front doors, roof and tailgate, the exterior of the RS 6 Avant comprises exclusively RS-specific parts, and to look at the car at rest on its sizeable 21-inch wheels shrouded by broad flared arches that expand its width by 40mm on each side, this is immediately evident.

The new RS 6 Avant is one of the first Audi Sport models to feature the new RS design language. In addition to a new bonnet ...
