Who knew it was him all along? I've known it was the talented Mr. Collins for a long, long time but 'played the game' and kept it to myslef.

And what now for what is, and lets not kid ourselves here, a formula for Top Gear that is fast approaching its sell by date anyway?

Don't get me wrong, I still very much enjoy the show, but is loosing The (or just this) Stig really such a big deal? I'm thinking not.

Yes the mystique was kind of fun, but his true identity was always going to come out at some point. In fact it's been (fairly) common knowledge for a while know if you could be bothered to dig around enough. I really am surprised it's taken this long.

What are your thoughts peeps?

(No, not really, it's a story from the Daily Mail)

Ferrari is taking seriously reports that several of its latest 458 models have burst into flames, and has started an investigation. We have no idea whether there's a real problem or not, but the story has been whipped up on the internet as a result of a few flaming 458s reported on wreckedexotics.com. (We try not to go there often, to spare your pain...)
The Daily Mail picked up the story today, and broadened its scope by amusingly suggesting the 458 'is being plagued by a mystery jinx' as several of the cars have crashed as well. The Mail say there's no technical fault to blame, however even Autocar couldn't resist running an item in its generally more sober style, and has quoted a Ferrari statement thus:
"The company is currently investigating the particular incidents in which cars have apparently been involved in a vehicle fire, and it is currently treating these as separate incidents. Until these investigations are complete, Ferrari is unable to provide any further comment."
Fortunately, PHers are free to comment liberally even without being in possession of all the facts(!), but whatever the truth of the matter, it's not great PR for the Prancing Horse, is it?

Mind you, at least a fire in a metal Ferrari need not necessarily be terminal. Carbon fibre fires are a different story, at least according to one race team manager I spoke to recently who reckoned heat damage does something to the resins that makes it unstable and therefore fit only for scrap. (Can anyone out there tell us more?)

It could be food for thought for anyone thinking about a TPF&T insurance policy on a new MP4-12C...

Just seen this, and at first I thought she might've just had a bad moment, but looking at it, you can see the cat is ultra friendly, and she starts to open the bin well before the cat arrives for a stroke, deffo pre meditated.

I have a few ideas why, maybe the cat poos in her garden, or maybe she doesn't like it's owners, either way, it's a fact of lifea cat will bury it's messages, and taking it out on a cat when you really hate a human is just poor form.

Had she not been being filmed the mog would've been left in the bin unable to escape, and possibly had a seizure from the stress of it.

And it is a very pretty cat as well, I've already said how good natured it is, and the video confirms that.

Now there is a death squad looking for her, I think that's a bit extreme myself, but at least one more sly, Miss Bouquet got caught, and it's smashed her respectable image to pieces, I think her image is part of it, she's younger than me but looks like she could be my mother, this tends to give ppl a vindictive nature if they aren't happy with themselves.

Oh, and be under no illusion, despite what she says, there was no split second at all, it was more like 5 seconds of desire to get the cat into the bin.

For the toughest school run ever...

Volkswagen has revealed its 2011 Dakar challenger, the Race Touareg 3. As the name rather implies, this is the third iteration of VW's Touareg rally-raid off-roader. The new car is the successor to the Race Touareg 2 (No kidding - Ed), which won the Dakar Rally in 2009 and 2010 - the first diesel-powered vehicle ever to win the event.
VW says that the Race Touareg 3 will be faster and more efficient while retaining the immense strength and durability of the outgoing car. Jolly good.

And if you're wondering why we're covering a diesel-powered school-run off-roader on PH, then think on this: the 2.5-litre diesel gets two turbos, giving it 296bhp and 442lb ft of torque, which it will then employ at up to 15,000 feet above sea level - over almost any ground - to sprint from 0-62mph in 6.1secs on the way to a 117mph top end. There are also no fewer than through three limited-slip differentials, an upgraded five-speed sequential gearbox and a ZF-Sachs three-plate ceramic clutch.
Wind tunnel testing has led to tweaks to the carbon fibre and Kevlar bodywork - especially the cooling systems around the roof of the vehicle - to reduce disruption to the airflow at high speeds. A new version of the Touareg means some visual changes, including new LED lights, a new grille, window line, rear clamshell and wheels.

Beneath the composite bodywork, there is very little in common with the Touareg road car. Race Touareg 3 has a high-strength steel spaceframe chassis with a pair of springs and damper units fitted to every corner. A set of bespoke BF Goodrich 235/85 R16 tyres provide the grip, and a spare pair of wheels and tyres are carried by the vehicle at all times. Not quite your average soft-roader...

I'm 25, with 3 years ncb, 5 years driving experience in a group -99 polo and my insurance want to put my insurance up by £82.

So not only do they keep me on hold for 25 minutes to talk to anybody, usually offering to call me back and never bothering, but they also see fit to hike my insurance up by £100, despite earning another year's NCB.

The killer? I've not even started to haggle my quotes down from t'internet yet and I'm already £300 cheaper!

The company? Hastings Direct.

don't use them, they really are poo. I'd go into the reasons why, but the list is as long as my arm.

Appologies in advance to those officers who are still "proper coppers", I don't mean you in any of this.
