Hi All

Yes a bit of a change, but after 7 month of RS4 ownership I decided to sell it, why you may ask, well not the petrol as work from home.

One reason is medical, about 4 months ago my left foot went numb, lower spine problem, make's the clutch use in traffic very unpleasent.

Two had a big scare when the front shocks went on the RS4, DRC system cost £3500 to get fixed, lucky Audi did it under a 5 year goodwill service they offer on RS4 on the DRC shocks.

Plus I had my fun and ticked the box, so put it up for sale for £22,000 private, no interest all, then £21000, so went out looking for P/ex on a XC90 was offered £18500 tops, NO THANKS

Wife loved her old 2002 A6 avant so thought i would look at the newer one, I liked the look of the Le Mans model, so I had as scout round, Audi Crawley had a 2.7 Le Mans Multitronic, though i would just pop in to see what you get for you cash, not my colour as it was Black.

Anyway, liked the look and spec of the car, asked them for a price on mine just for a comparrison, £20K I was shocked and happy.

Then the salemans hit me with a knock out blow, car was coming up to is 90 day stock limit, so it's company policy it has to go to either a different dealer in the group at trade money or get sold within 7 days.

Hence they had just knocked £2000 off the price, so at £22,500 with a years tax, I agreed to buy it, so much for just looking :zx11:.

So thats a 2010 A6 2.7 Black Lemans Multitronic with 22,300 miles, black and black leather. 4 new tyres, 1 years tax, 1 years warranty left and just serviced.

Found their original ad they put up 90 days ago, it was up for £26300, then reduced to £24,300, then to £22,300

I even got to keep my £460 RS4 tax disc for a refund. :approve:

Yes I know it multitronic, but its does not seem there the time bomb they once were I hope ! But I will exstended the warranty next year just in case.

OK it not a RS4, but i love the gearbox, as not a fan of the slush autobox's, seem quick enough, lots of grunt, does not sound like a diesel, wifes A3 140 TDI sound like a london cab.

I was thinking i probably only ever had the RS4 on full throttle for about 10 minutes in the 7 months i owned it, UK roads are just to busy, mind you did have some fun with a Maserratti on the way to trade it in, he was most upset to have a estate car keeping up with him, a fitting end to my ownership, i think.

Re A6

Steering is a bit light, but so many toys to play with inside, plenty to wrong too.

Its got the uprated MMI but no DAB, seen some kits on ebay for it, is worth doing ?

Anyway still got 2 Triumph motorbikes for my speed adrenaline rush.

But anyway Hi

Got the opportunity to go and see a preproduction model preview of the new a3 today. I liked the look of the car from viewing online so I thought I'd go and have a look about.

First impressions were really good, the new front grill sets the car off and the DRLs fitted to this car looked good too.

The car looked sorta like an A1-ish shape at the back, although it does seem somewhat wider than the 8P on the 3 door model. Sportback isnt released until next year.

The cabin felt and looked very like an A1 too along with the usual build quality - very good, good materials used and the seats were very comfy and supporting along with the touchy feely of the switches.

The 8V now gets an electronic handbrake as standard and does away with the Z handbrake the 8P had.

Some spec that this car had:

Panaramic Sunroof
Adaptive cruise control
Xenon with afs
Auto lights
Auto wipers
HDD nav with google
Dab radio
Auto hill hold
Half leather seats
Interior light pack
Audi drive select
Start/stop
Park assist
Front and rear sensors
LED interior lights - possible retrofit to 8P? ;)
Heated seats front and rear
Digital air con
Keyless go
Electric seats
AMI
18" alloys which look very Golf GTI
Lane assist and side assist
Auto dimming mirrors
Bang and olofusen stereo system
LED number plate lights which are standard ;)

And probably a lot more I've missed out!

Very nice car - prices start at £19 (!) for the basic car and a 1.4 tfsi. Diesels start at £20k. No offers for 18 months.

Tempted to place an order there and then and ditch my troublesome 8P! ;)

Delivery early Autumn according to Belfast. Sportback due mid 2013.

Pictures were taken quickly due to others looking at the car so it was point and go sorry!

Belfast only had It today, don't know of its next destination.
It shifts and what an amazing noise for a diesel. It needs a bit of cosmetic tiding. The front end is stone chipped and had a few too many scrapings on the lower edge. The grill and the side grills need replacing but I cant find anywhere that sells the same replacement. Can any one help.

Quite a dads car considering i'm only 24 and no kids yet :)

I was hoping to start with the head lights and maybe get something that fits in the older shape but looks more modern any suggestions of a good made/model?

I have also just realised I can walk around shouting "fire up the Quattro!"

Hi, I have an a4 1.9 tdi auto (115) I have a vibration which is only intermittently apparent between 72mph and 85mph and more uphill or on the flat (under load) I have balanced all 4 wheels and swapped front to back as I thought might be duff tyre, have checked all wheel bearings ect, the vibration is not through the steering but through the floor of the car it does it in all gears and different engine speeds, the gearbox and engine run very smooth with no fault codes in either and changes gear fine hot and cold. It is only noticable at this road speed, I'm thinking driveshaft or torque converter? Any ideas? Or known issues?

Hi Everyone,
I purchased a couple of months ago the Connects2 AutoDab CTDAB-AU2 ISO fitting DAB radio from Halfords and after some wiring issues, that were helpfully addressed by the manufacturer Connects2. I find the unit locks-up after approximately 45 minutes continuous use. The only way to reset it is to turn off the ignition for a period longer than 10 minutes approx.

I have contacted the manufacturer about this issue, who so far have been very helpful in so much as they replaced my original unit but still the problem persists.

My question is has any one else purchased this same unit and fitted it to an Audi A4 B7 with a Symphony radio (ISO fixing) and had no problem?

Any feedback would be great thank you.

Hi,

I have just been working on my car and noticed I have a fair amount of play in the upper control arm (triangular one that goes either side of the shock turret).

My local motor factors drew a blank when looking for a replacement arm or bushes. I did a quick search on here and did not manage to find anything relating to this arm.

Does anybody know if this arm is available, or if replacement bushes are...or is it a trip to the main ******* for a new one and a sizeable dent in the bank balance?

Many Thanks.
