In May this year the new GDPR regulations come into force...

As a website/forum that requires users to register certain details with the site during the registration process... We take your privacy very serious and do our very best to protect these details and never pass them on to any third party.

These are as follows...

Username - This can be anything you choose and DOES NOT need to be your own name, in fact I recommend you DO NOT use your real name or email address as the username.

Email address - This is used to send the activation email to confirm that you are a genuine person and not an automated registration system which usually do it for spam, In addition, this will be used to send notifications of replies to posts. threads, private messages, you may also receive newsletters from the administration.

You can "opt out" of any or all of these via your user control panel, you may be able to use a "once only" or "forum specific" email address if required... I may, if required I may be able to remove your email address from the system, but I am not 100% sure of the effects this will have on you using the site.

IP Address
- This is logged by the site during registration, and each time you visit but is only visible to the forum staff.

Any other information which you feel you wish to use on the “profile page” you can, but this does not affect how you view the site.

Cookies:
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site. Depending on your access level and actions on the site, various preference based cookies may be set to enrich your experience. These cookies are used to remember your theme, language and item marking preferences, etc.

How do I change my cookie settings:
Most web browsers allow some control of most cookies through the browser settings. To find out more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit www.aboutcookies.org or www.allaboutcookies.org.

To opt out of being tracked by Google Analytics across all websites visit http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

As far as I am aware the only item which could identify you personally but not directly is the email address, other members can send you an email via the email form on the site, and they may be able to see this email address.

More details on this and how we use information collected by the site, the cookies used and how we use Google analytics to track visits to the site can be found in the "privacy policy" located here

I always recommend that you change your password for the site on a regular basis, although all passwords are stored in an encrypted manor on the database...

These sites are a good place to generate passwords and check there security..

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask.
