    ŠKODA is giving its customers a sporting chance this year with the addition of a SportLine trim to its new all-electric SUV range, the Enyaq SportLine iV. Black exterior detailing, large alloy wheels and a lowered sports chassis provide a sporting edge to the line-up. Inside, the Enyaq SportLine iV boasts sports seats with integrated headrests, a three-spoke multifunction leather sports steering wheel and carbon-effect trims. There will be a choice of two powertrains; the Enyaq iV 80 (150 kW offering a range of more than 323 miles (520 km) in the WLTP cycle) and the Enyaq iV 80x (195 kW), featuring two electric motors and is all-wheel drive. Both will arrive in the UK later this year.


    The SportLine version of this new all-electric SUV has been created to appeal to drivers who like the dynamic look of ŠKODA’s performance models but with the added practicality of a full-size SUV. Customers will be able to choose from two powertrain options. The Enyaq SportLine iV 80 is equipped with a 82-kWh battery (77 kWh net) and can cover more than 323 miles (520 km) in the WLTP cycle.     Producing 659 PS (650 bhp) and 900 Nm (667 lb.ft) of torque, the engine for the first customer Bentley Mulliner Bacalar has now completed assembly and production testing at Bentley’s centre of excellence for W12 engines.

    The Bacalar spearheads a return to coachbuilding by Bentley Mulliner and features an enhanced version of Bentley’s peerless 6.0-litre, W12 TSI engine, the most advanced 12-cylinder engine in the world.

    Since the first introduction of the twin-turbocharger W12 in 2003, the refinement of the engine has seen an increase of up to 27 per cent in power, 38 per cent in torque and a reduction of 38 per cent in emissions.

    This has been realised through evolution and optimisation of the crankcase, improvements in the oil and cooling systems, twin-scroll turbocharging technology and more effective injection and combustion processes.

    Each W12 engine is hand-built over 6.5 hours by a team of 45 craftspeople before undertaking a highly sophisticated test regime of over an hour via three specialist diagnostic machines during the engines assemble.

    The Volkswagen Tiguan’s range of petrol engines has been bolstered by the addition of two powerful units – 190 PS and 245 PS units, both benefitting from 4MOTION four-wheel drive. Together, they bestow the Tiguan range with additional choice for customers searching for a capable, quick, petrol SUV.


    The Tiguan’s two new engines – both turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol units – are the most powerful petrol powertrains in the range yet, offering 190 PS and a range-topping 245 PS, with 320 and 370 Nm of torque respectively.

    The 190 PS engine’s power peak is available between 4,180 and 6,500 rpm, while the more powerful of the duo reaches its maximum output between 4,750 and 6,500 rpm. Both engines deliver their highest torque figures in a remarkably accessible fashion, between 1,500 and 4,300 rpm. This equates to brisk 0-62 mph acceleration of 7.4 seconds and a 133 mph top speed for the 190 PS model, and 6.0 seconds for the more powerful 245 PS unit, which tops out at 142 mph, where permitted .

    SEAT is using the latest in eye-tracking technology to enable its engineers to make driving more intuitive and safer in the future.

    The Barcelona-based manufacturer can track a driver’s gaze using eye-tracking glasses which use infrared light sensors, high resolution images and a sophisticated algorithm to pinpoint exactly where the driver is looking when behind the wheel.

    With the road ahead being the primary focus for drivers, the technology helps engineers design cabins which allow drivers to safely locate and operate technology on the centre console – including the infotainment system – and steering wheel at a glance.

    The SEAT Smart Quality team is piloting the technology with the aim of improving the safety and the driver experience of future models by obtaining precise information about human interactions with its vehicles.

    Rubén Martínez, head of SEAT’s Smart Quality
    department, said: “We must guarantee the minimum interaction time with the screen, and to do this, anything the drivers needs must be where users intuitively and naturally expect it to be.

    Bentley Motors today announces a three-year research study that aims to revolutionise the sustainability of electric motors. Supporting Bentley’s commitment to offer only hybrid or electric vehicles by 2026, the result could see recycled rare-earth magnets used in selected ancillary motors for the very first time.

    The study, titled RaRE (Rare-earth Recycling for E-machines), intends to build on work completed at the University of Birmingham in devising a method of extracting magnets from waste electronics. Furthermore, the project will scale up this process and repurpose the extracted magnetic material into new recyclable magnets for use within bespoke ancillary motors.

    Adding to the sustainability benefits that RaRE will provide, the bespoke motors created through this method promise to minimise complexity through manufacture while supporting the development of the UK supply chain for both mass production and low volume components.

    Today, ŠKODA AUTO manufactured its 100,000th high-voltage traction battery. In order to create the necessary production conditions at the company’s headquarters in Mladá Boleslav, the Czech carmaker invested approximately 25.3 million euros in 2019. An area covering roughly 2,000 m˛ is now used not only to produce high-voltage traction batteries for the company’s own plug-in hybrid models, but also batteries for plug-in hybrids from the group brands AUDI, SEAT and Volkswagen. The site also boasts state-of-the-art facilities to comprehensively test the batteries and ensure the highest possible safety and quality standards.


    Christian Bleiel, Head of Component Production at ŠKODA AUTO, said: “We have now reached the mark of 100,000 high-voltage traction batteries produced. This success is a great testament to our team’s high level of engineering expertise as well as the importance of our component production within the group: our batteries are not just used in the ŠKODA Superb iV and the Octavia iV, they are also fitted in plug-in hybrids from the AUDI, SEAT and Volkswagen brands.     The Pro electric motor option is available across the ID.3’s Life, Business and Family specifications, and offers a second, 145 PS power output in addition to the introductory 204 PS Pro Performance version. Despite the different motor output to the Pro Performance models, the impressive range of the ID.3 remains the same, with up to 263 miles available on the ID.3 Life Pro from its 58 kWh (net) battery capacity.

    For the first time, the Volkswagen Arteon is now available with an electrified drivetrain in the form of a plug-in hybrid. The system comprises a 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine supported by an electric motor, together providing a peak power output of 218 PS and torque of 400 Nm. Prices start at Ł39,905 OTR RRP for the fastback in Elegance trim.


    The new plug-in hybrid drivetrain is supported by a 13 kWh battery which can provide an electric-only range of up to 39 miles, while the 115 PS electric motor can power the Arteon along at speeds up to 80 mph, where permitted. With the high-torque characteristics of the electric motor, both Arteon models can sprint from a standstill to 62 mph in just 7.8 seconds and, where allowed, onto a top speed of 138 mph.

    The enhanced Arteon range is now available to order in over 20 configurations, split equally between the fastback and Shooting Brake models, with the new hybrid option now available across both body styles. Two equipment lines remain available – Elegance and R-Line – with the latest hybrid drivetrain available on both. The Arteon R with 320 PS and 4MOTION will arrive in due course for both body types.

    The Volkswagen ID.3 has taken a further two trophies home after success this week at the What Car? Car of the Year Awards 2021. This brings the tally of trophies the model has received so far in the UK to nine. What Car? named the ID.3 its ‘Small Electric Car of the Year’ and also presented it with the publication’s ‘Safety Award’. The Touran has been named ‘MPV of the Year’ while the Arteon and T-Roc were given best-buy accolades.


    As the ID. family prepares to grow with the imminent arrival of the ID.4, the ID.3 continues to enjoy high-praise among the UK’s media. The ID.3 Pro Performance Life was chosen by What Car? as its 2021 ‘Small Electric Car of the Year’. Commenting on the win, Steve Huntingford, Editor, said: “Thanks to rear-wheel drive, accurate steering and fine body control, the ID.3 is an electric car that's genuinely fun to drive. What's more, its practicality is up with the roomiest family hatchbacks, predicted resale values are superb and it’ll be cheap to run for both company car drivers and private buyers.     Bentley Motors today announced total sales of 11,206 in 2020, an increase of two per cent over 2019. Although the pre-COVID sales forecast was much greater, new model introductions fuelled this significant achievement which was the highest sales performance in any of the luxury British marque’s 101 years.

    Bentley’s production was shutdown for seven weeks beginning in March, and running at a 50 per cent output for a further nine weeks thereafter, as social distancing measures were introduced. A resulting comprehensive redesign of the production facility enabled Bentley to meet this global demand while in parallel maintaining these social distancing protocols to the current day and beyond.

    The Americas remained Bentley’s number one region although a strong performance in China, posting an increase of 48 per cent, ran it close.

    Commenting on the global sales results, Adrian Hallmark, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors, said:

    Yes G 052 911 is allowed to be a 75W80 or 75W90 , but I've prefer a thinner G 052 171 , 70W75 like Fuchs Titan Sintofluid FE SAE 75W or Millers TRX

    For the rear diff, 75w-90 Meeting API GL5 and we often recommend the Fuchs Titan Sintopoid 75w-90 as it also meets the VW TL 521 45-Y spec for your car
