Bentley has today announced details of the new Bentayga – the definitive luxury SUV, and the first car launched under Bentley’s Beyond100 business plan. With more than 20,000 Bentaygas handcrafted since the car’s launch – more than any of its competitors – the new Bentayga is set to build on an incredible success story to date.

A new exterior design adopts the Bentley design DNA now prevalent across the entire model range, giving Bentley the freshest and most modern product family of any luxury car company. Introducing the very latest onboard technology and an even more cosseting cabin, the new model is significantly revised both inside and out.

Combining the abilities of a performance grand tourer, a luxury limousine, a spacious family car and an off-roader, the new Bentayga follows its predecessor’s mantle of having the broadest brief of any car on sale today.

The Audi Q5 has been one of the bestselling SUVs in the premium mid-size segment on European markets for years. And now, Audi has made it even better and even more attractive. The optimized Q5 combines a sporty character with excellent everyday usability, and comes with a wide array of infotainment and assistance options. The sharpened exterior design of this highly successful model emphasizes the Q identity and boasts a rear light cluster featuring digital OLED technology for the first time worldwide.

The exterior design: Audi Q design language now even more distinctive

The strong Q identity characterizes the exterior of the Audi Q5 with its expression of power, robustness and safety. In executing the exterior update, Audi designers further emphasized this look and feel with a series of distinctive details. The octagonal Singleframe is now shallower and appears wider than before. The side air intakes have grown in height and are now structured by trapezoidal insets. The upper section of the LED headlamps features a new signature for the daytime running lights. Viewed from the side, the Q5 now has lighter look with greater ground clearance thanks to the redesigned sill insert. At the rear end is a new trim element between the light clusters and a new diffusor insert with a horizontal fin. As well as the standard trim there are also two optional design lines. The advanced line comes with chromed vertical ribs in the Singleframe, along with under-ride guards beneath the front and rear bumpers in silver instead of black. The S line comprises a sporty honeycomb in the Singleframe and a chrome strip framing the rear diffusor.

Two of the twelve available paint colors are new – district green and ultra blue. The black trim package is available as an option.

The interior design: a light touch and first-class quality

The horizontal emphasis of the interior design conveys a feeling of expanse and lightness. The sculptural, elegant sweep of the trim inlay ...

    • Mulsanne comes to the end of production after more than a decade
    • Unique ‘6.75 Edition’ rounds off the summit of automotive luxury
    • Socially-distanced colleague celebrations around final cars
    • Over 7,300 vehicles handcrafted in Crewe, Cheshire
    • Flying Spur becomes new flagship model

After more than a decade in production, the final example of the Mulsanne has been completed, signifying the end of an illustrious and extraordinary lifespan. Over 7,300 examples - all handcrafted at Bentley’s home in Crewe, Cheshire - have embodied Bentley’s ability to produce the ultimate luxury sedan.

With typical end-of-production celebrations curtailed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Bentley Colleagues gathered for socially-distanced photographs with the final cars, and marked the departure of Mulsanne by sharing their thoughts of the outgoing Bentley flagship on camera.

Bentley is today releasing both this Colleague film and a suite of imagery of the penultimate customer car – a Mulsanne Speed ‘6.75 Edition by Mulliner’ finished in Rose Gold over Tungsten, heading to a lucky customer in the USA. One extremely special, final Mulsanne remains behind the penultimate car – however, its future home remains a closely guarded secret.

Mulsanne’s lineage can be traced back through Bentley’s history, from the original 8 Litre of 1930 - the last car designed and developed by W.O. Bentley himself – as the most luxurious, coach built Bentley of its time.
Bentley Chairman and Chief Executive, Adrian Hallmark, comments:

“The Mulsanne is the culmination of all that we at Bentley have learnt during our first 100 years in producing the finest luxury cars in ...

    • Area View and Trailer Assist for the Superb and Karoq; Scala and Kamiq further refined

New steering wheels, even more efficient engines and additional assistance systems are just some of the changes as part of model year updates to ŠKODA’s multi-award winning line up.

The new two- or three-spoke steering wheels from the all-new Octavia – featuring the infotainment operating buttons and knurled wheels – are now being introduced across the ŠKODA range. The Superb, Kodiaq and Karoq will benefit from additional assistance systems, while the Scala and Kamiq compact models are being further refined with subtle details. Additionally, Fabia and Superb combustion engines will be converted to the Euro 6d emission standard by the end of the year, with some becoming even more powerful.

    Superb

As part of the model year changes, ŠKODA’s flagship Superb will boast a higher output for its two top-of-the-range engines, along with lower fuel consumption and lower emissions. The most powerful 2.0 TDI diesel from the new EVO generation will deliver 200 PS (147 kW) - previously 190 PS (140 kW). The enhanced SCR exhaust gas treatment uses a ‘twin dosing’ process, in which AdBlue® is specifically injected in front of two catalytic converters arranged one after the other, and reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by up to 80 per cent. In the range-topping 2.0 TSI petrol version, the output is increasing by 8 PS (6 kW) to 280 PS (206 kW). Both ...

    • The RVE version is characterized by special "Graffiti” livery, a striking graphic design inspired by that of the Hypermotard 950 Concept presented in 2019 at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d’Este
    • A sophisticated painting process and application of the graphics guarantees a result comparable to that of an airbrushed bodywork
    • The electronic package of the Hypermotard 950 RVE is enhanced with the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up and Down EVO

Ducati presents the new Hypermotard 950 RVE, which is part of the Borgo Panigale fun-bike family between the entry model Hypermotard 950 and the top of the range Hypermotard 950 SP.

The Hypermotard 950 RVE is characterized by a livery called "Graffiti" that is inspired by street art. The bike builds on the success achieved in 2019, especially on social media, by the Hypermotard 950 Concept presented at the prestigious Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.

Wanting to transfer the same manufacturing quality of the concept bike from which it derives to the production motorcycle, it was necessary in the painting phases, to employ highly skilled labour, use very low thickness decals and adopt a particularly long and complex
process. The result is comparable to that of an airbrushed bodywork.

Not only graphics, but also a standard equipment upgrade for this new version. The electronic package of the Hypermotard 950 RVE is enhanced by the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up and Down EVO, which is added to the components already present in the standard version, namely Bosch Cornering ABS with Slide by ...

    • Factory archives reveal first petrol/electric car co-developed with Czech tram pioneer in 1908
    • First ŠKODA EV was the ‘beer float’ - a battery-powered delivery truck built in 1938
    • ŠKODA developed numerous wood-gas models in response to fuel shortages
    • Innovation continues today with E-Mobility at the heart of ŠKODA’s design philosophy

Innovation has been a cornerstone of the ŠKODA design philosophy for 125 years. From the very first L&K bicycles and motorbikes right up to the Enyaq all-electric SUV, ŠKODA has always sought to push the boundaries of technology while keeping its products affordable and value for money.

That’s no easy task, but over the last 12 decades, ŠKODA has learned that innovation is as much about brain power, lateral thinking and ingenuity than it is cost. 2020 marks the debut of two key cars for ŠKODA - the Superb iV plug-in hybrid and the Citigoe iV, the brand’s first fully-electric production model.

And while both models represent significant firsts for modern-era ŠKODA, a close look at once secret archive material from the brand’s past reveals that pioneering engineers and designers at the brand’s Mladá Boleslav base successfully developed both hybrid and fully electric vehicles more than 100 years ago.

    1908 - the first ŠKODA petrol/electric hybrid

In 1908, ŠKODA AUTO founders Vaclav Laurin and Vaclav Klement joined forces with renowned Czech engineer František Křižík to investigate whether electric power was suitable for private vehicles. Křižík had successfully designed and engineered Prague’s electric tram system (which still runs today) and believed that electric power represented the future. Working with a L&K Type E prototype, he built ...
