    • High-performance, long-range diesel now open to UK customers
    • Latest GTD offers 200 PS, and 0-62 mph in 7.1 seconds
    • 2.0-litre TDI engine returns 51.4-54.3 mpg on WLTP combined cycle

The Volkswagen Golf GTD is now available to UK customers, priced from £32,790 (RRP OTR). It follows the GTI and GTE models, which were also recently opened for order to British buyers. The diesel-powered newcomer is the most powerful Golf GTD to date. It offers the benefits of both high-performance and long range, with up to 600 miles available from a single tank of fuel, a top speed of 152 mph (where permitted) and a 0-62 mph sprint time of 7.1 seconds allied to strong in-gear acceleration.

The Golf GTD completes the GT-badged line-up of performance Golfs, complementing the ultra-low emissions GTE plug-in hybrid and iconic, high-performance petrol-engined GTI – the current performance champion of the Golf range. The flagship – the Golf R – will be unveiled next month.

The new arrival boasts a maximum torque figure of 400 Nm and, for the first time, 200 PS – up from 184 PS in the outgoing model. Top speed and acceleration figures are very close to those of the Golf GTI, helped by the standard-fit and quick-shifting 7-speed DSG transmission. However, the GTD’s key talent is in its fuel efficiency, range and low emissions – combined fuel economy of 51.4-54.3 mpg (WLTP) equates to a range of up to 600 miles from a single tank of fuel, while CO2 emissions of 137 g/km (WLTP) also help to keep the GTD’s running costs low. Nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions have been significantly reduced compared with the previous model, due to the introduction of two SCR catalytic converters with dual AdBlue injection.

Maintaining the high level of equipment offered across the rest of the Golf range, and the generous offering of the range-topping ...

    The first electrified vRS

At the heart of the new Octavia vRS – the first vRS to be offered with a plug-in drivetrain – is a petrol and electric power unit fine-tuned to deliver a sporty and engaging driving experience. • New battery with 17.8 kWh, electric range of up to 28 miles (WLTP)
    • Option to upgrade both variants with exceptionally comprehensive Vorsprung specification

Luxury on a grand scale, consumption at its most modest – like its more familiar relatives the new Audi Q8 TFSI e quattro goes above and beyond to provide the most superlative driving experience in the Audi SUV range, but the brand’s seventh plug-in-hybrid also goes to even greater lengths to do so as environmentally sensitively as possible. The new version closes the last gap in the Q8 family and will be available in the UK in two forms - the Q8 55 TFSI e quattro with a system output of 381 PS and the Q8 Competition 60 TFSI e quattro with 462 PS. “Cruising on air suspension in the upscale surroundings of the new Q8 TFSI e accompanied only by the distant purr of its electric motor is a true golden moment, but also a green one that can be enjoyed for the entire duration of many commutes, eliminating exhaust emissions from numerous journeys. • Seven new trim levels announced, with pre-configured specification
    • The most accessible ID.3 Life version will cost £29,9901
    • The ID.3 Tour introduces a 77 kWh battery and 336 mile range2

Just four weeks after the first British customers collected their ID.3 1ST Editions, Volkswagen has announced pricing for the seven pre-configured series ID.3 models. The lowest-priced of these net carbon-neutral models, the ID.3 Life, will cost £29,990 RRP OTR including the £3,000 plug-in car grant. Orders for the new models will open next week with first deliveries expected before the end of the month.

Volkswagen is preparing to open the order books for seven new ID.3 variants following the arrival of the limited-production ID.3 1ST Edition. Six of these models use the familiar 58 kWh battery (net capacity) and 204 PS motor seen on the 1ST Edition, while the ID.3 Tour also has a 204 PS motor but introduces the largest 77 kWh battery (net capacity) with an increased range of 336 miles (WLTP combined figure). Next year more accessible variants – with lower power outputs and the smallest 45 kWh battery – will go on sale.

The ID.3 Pro Performance (58 kWh battery and 204 PS motor) will be available in six specification levels: Life, Style, Business, Family, Tech and Max. At the top of the range, meanwhile, the four-seater ID.3 Pro S will have the largest battery fitted (77 kWh and 204 PS motor). This will be available only in Tour specification. Each of these trim levels comes with a pre-configured specification, built with a variety of option packages designed to suit different customer needs. This approach also enables the carbon-neutral factory in Zwickau, Germany, to build the cars faster.

All seven ID.3 models will feature LED headlights, Adaptive Cruise Control, ...
