    SEAT’s new flagship model

    • Tarraco is SEAT’s third SUV and represents the company’s entry into the large SUV market, completing the family line-up alongside Arona and Ateca
    • The Tarraco is the first model to show the new SEAT design direction for the coming years
    • The large SUV offers greater flexibility for customers with both five and seven-seater options
    • The new model will enter the market at the very beginning of 2019

The future design direction of new SEAT models has been unveiled tonight as the wraps have come off the all-new Tarraco. The large SUV – named after the Mediterranean city of Tarragona, a historic cultural centre with a spirit that is young and adventurous – completes the Barcelona-based manufacturer’s SUV range.

The latest vehicle designed and developed at the facilities of SEAT in Martorell (Barcelona) and produced in Wolfsburg (Germany), marks the third instalment in the company’s SUV product offensive and shows a glimpse of the future design language of new SEAT models. Tarraco is the new flagship model of the brand and will bring the company new customers, boost brand image and have an important effect on profits, as this is a model with high contribution margins.

Tarraco sits at the top of SEAT’s SUV family, as the bigger brother to both the Ateca and Arona, and mixes state-of-the-art technology, dynamic and agile handling, practicality and functionality with elegant, progressive design. The Tarraco combines the many advantages of its larger dimensions to offer a vehicle that can take on all elements of modern life.

The new SUV blends the key attributes of every vehicle in the SEAT range – design and functionality, sportiness and comfort, accessibility and quality, technology and emotion –but in a form that suits a wider variety ...

Testament that with LEGO Technic you can build for real, this non-glued, fully-functional and self-propelled LEGO Technic model can fit two passengers inside and accelerate to over 20km/h

Perfectly recreating the organic design lines of the world’s fastest production car – the iconic Bugatti Chiron1 – the LEGO Technic life-size model pushes the boundaries of what LEGO builders imagined was possible to build in LEGO elements.

The model is the first large scale movable construction developed using over 1,000,000 LEGO Technic elements and powered exclusively using motors from the LEGO Power Function platform. Packed with 2,304 motors and 4,032 LEGO Technic gear wheels, the engine of this 1.5 tonnes car is generating 5.3 horse power and an estimated torque of 92 Nm.

Lena Dixen, Senior Vice President of Product and Marketing at the LEGO Group said:

“This life-size model is a first of its kind in so many ways and with it, we wanted to push the boundaries of our own imagination. For over 40 years, LEGO Technic has allowed fans of all ages to test their creativity with a building system that challenges them to go beyond just creating new designs, to also engineering new functions. Our Technic designers and the engineers from the Kladno factory in the Czech Republic, the place which also builds the impressive models for LEGO Stores and LEGOLAND parks, have done an amazing job both at recreating the Chiron’s iconic shapes and making it possible to drive this model. It’s a fascinating example of the LEGO Technic building system in action and its potential for creative reinvention.” ...

Porsche has unveiled the new Macan in Shanghai. The compact SUV has been a great success since its launch in 2014, and the latest model brings further enhancements in terms of its design, comfort, connectivity and driving dynamics, allowing the Macan to remain the sporty flagship in its segment.

The new Macan stays true to the Porsche design DNA with a distinctive three-dimensional LED light strip across its tail. LED technology also features in the headlights as standard. The most striking innovations inside the vehicle include the 11-inch touchscreen of the new Porsche Communication Management (PCM), re-designed and re-positioned air vents and the GT sports steering wheel familiar from the 911. The PCM enables access to new digital functions, such as intelligent voice control and the online navigation system. The vehicle’s range of comfort equipment has also been expanded to include traffic jam assist, an ioniser to control interior air quality and a heated windscreen.

LED headlights and new rear light strip as standard
The introduction of a number of exterior styling features are intended to bring a more purposeful appearance look to the Macan, as well as incorporating more contemporary design elements. For instance, numerous details reflect the DNA of the iconic 911 sports car as well as the 918 Spyder. In particular, the lighting plays a key role, with the new Macan equipped with LED headlight technology as standard. The light units have a distinctive, three-dimensional design and can be further optimised if desired, such as with the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS) that can adaptively ...
