    • Audi Board Member for Development Peter Mertens: “The Audi A8 is an innovation driver for our entire industry”

The Audi A8 is the World Luxury Car 2018. The win underscores the status of the brand’s flagship as the embodiment of Vorsprung durch Technik. The award ceremony took place today (Wednesday, 28 March) at the New York Auto Show.

In their decision, the 82 jury members from 24 countries assessed not only the emotional appeal, passenger comfort and safety, but also environment aspects as well as driving performance, market relevance and price-performance ratio. The Audi A8 prevailed against two competitors in the final elimination round. This marks the ninth overall victory for the brand with the four rings in the World Car Awards.

“This award is a special honour for us and our flagship,” explained Peter Mertens, Board Member for Development at AUDI AG. “The new Audi A8 is an innovation driver for our entire industry. It sets new standards in automotive engineering with its innovative touch control system, consistent, broad electrification and the technical conditions for conditional automated driving.”

The Audi A8 is being built at the Neckarsulm site and has been available to order in the UK since December 2017. In addition to its select materials and handcrafted-level build quality, its highlights include high-end equipment like the HD Matrix LED headlights with Audi laser light, dynamic all-wheel steering and the relaxation rear seat package with foot massage. UK pricing starts from £69,100 OTR for the standard wheelbase model and £73,095 OTR the A8 L.

    1. No. The facelift has an extremely aggressive stop start to achieve the emmision goals. There’s a button on the dash to stop it going. Or you can use

    1. It does this on mine too. I used OBDeleven to switch the start/stop function so it's initially off until I press the button. I never use start/stop

Start/stop switching to early. + Hide MMI Screen.

    Hi,
after couple of months of using A6 C7 facelift (2015) I have few questions. I hope its better to ask them all here instead of 2 new threads.

Re: Should a 2005 Audi A6 (C6) be rusting this badly?

My A6 was the same, so it went in the Audi scrappage scheme. It was worse than your car, it had rust in the same places plus both sill's were rotten.

Re: Audi Phone Box - seeking information

It’s a shame that the Bluetooth rSAP protocol never really took off. I had this in my 2012 Superb Estate and the signal was brilliant. I could go through

    Hi all,

I'm after a set of roof bars for my 2005 Golf Plus (without rails or fixing points on the roof), does the Golf Plus take the same

    Re: Some advice

I now have a routine where I now press the park button, then the brake then the stop start. I just wanted to reduce my effort by a third 🙂.

    Re: Retrofitting memory seats

Thanks for the quick response - yes, the original fuse was 10A and is specified as such per the owner's manual. I'll up it to 15A and report back.

    Re: Retrofitting memory seats

Is the 10A fuse the original one that was in there when you had power lumbar only? If so then up the fuse to a 15A one as the seat is drawing a little
