    • New ŠKODA Superb GreenLine is the cleanest and most efficient Superb ever
    • 1.6 TDI 120PS engine returns 76.4mpg and emits just 96g/km of CO2 (Hatch)
    • Optimised aerodynamics and engine modifications deliver improved efficiency
    • World debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show – arrives in UK late 2015

ŠKODA is set to add to its acclaimed GreenLine range with its most advanced and efficient model to date – the new Superb GreenLine. The latest addition to the recently-launched Superb range takes fuel economy and emissions to a new level, with a predicted combined consumption figure of 76.4mpg and CO2 emissions of just 96g/km for the Hatch and 97g/km for the Estate. These provide the new Superb GreenLine with a potential range of more than 1,100 miles on just one tank of fuel– comfortably enough to drive from Milton Keynes to Barcelona.

The new Superb GreenLine will be unveiled to the public at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show and will be available in the UK later this year. The newcomer – which is the most fuel-efficient and cleanest Superb ever built – is powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that develops 120PS and incorporates a host of advanced fuel-saving technologies and engineering features. As with all other Superb models, the GreenLine is equipped with start-stop ignition and brake energy recovery as standard. In addition, both Superb GreenLine models feature longer gear ratios, SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) and 16-inch reduced rolling resistance tyres.

    • Golf Cabriolet for model year 2016 has sportier exterior, new colours and an upgraded interior

The Golf Cabriolet is one of the most successful open-top cars on the German market and one of the most popular of its kind in Europe. At the Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA), Volkswagen is presenting a visually extensive update of the four-seater soft-top best seller.

The changes are easy to identify by the considerably sportier front bumper, the striking side sills and sporty accents on the rear bumper. Moreover, the convertible can now be configured even more individually. Besides six new exterior colours, there is an additional soft-top colour and six new wheel
designs. In the interior, there is a new generation of steering wheels and new trim elements as well as new designs for the cloth and leather seats.

The range of engines in the Golf Cabriolet was also uprated to model year 2016 and switched to the Euro 6 emissions standard. The four petrol (TSI) and two diesel engines (TDI) in total are direct-injection turbo engines with powerful torques to match.

Also new on board are the Composition Colour and Composition Media radio/infotainment systems. As a supplement to the Composition Media, the Discover Media navigation system is available. With the new infotainment systems, Volkswagen has brought Car-Net, featuring Guide & Inform, and App
Connect smartphone integration to the Golf Cabriolet. Guide & Inform allows the use of Internet-based information channels, which include Online Traffic Information, News, the Vehicle Status Report and Weather. In

    • ŠKODA outscores all rivals to top 2015 Vehicle Dependability Study
    • Study analysed data from new cars built between April 2012 and March 2014
    • ŠKODA’s winning score significantly below the industry average
    • All ŠKODA models in the survey performed better than the industry average

ŠKODA has been named as the UK’s most dependable brand in a new JD Power study. The inaugural 2015 UK Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) asked owners to report problems with their new cars – from serious breakdowns to troublesome in-car entertainment issues. Once analysed, the results gave ŠKODA a clear victory, with the brand comprehensively outscoring luxury brands.

The study, which focused on new cars registered between April 2012 and March 2014, used owner data to generate an overall dependability score for each brand. SKODA’s score of 77 was the lowest in the entire survey, with the Industry Average for 2015 recorded as 114.

Every ŠKODA in the survey performed better than the industry average, with the Fabia ranked as the third most dependable car in the Small Car category.

Commenting on the survey, Alasdair Stewart, Director, ŠKODA UK said: “This result perfectly illustrates ŠKODA’s passion for delivering quality and dependability. As this study shows, our build quality is the envy of the industry, and I’m delighted that this has been recognised. We’re always striving to
improve quality and reliability, and we hope that this will be repeated in future studies.”

First ever purely electric Audi SUV destined for series production following Frankfurt concept reveal

    • Audi e-tron quattro concept will be unveiled at IAA 2015
    • Production ready model scheduled for 2018
    • Capable of more than 310 miles
    • Electrified quattro drivetrain with three motors
    • cd value of just 0.25

The conceptual basis for a completely new all-electric Audi SUV with a potential range of more than 310 miles will be one of the stars of the IAA in Frankfurt next month. The Audi e-tron quattro concept profits from the expertise gained in the development of the forthcoming R8 e-tron, and the roadgoing model which it will help to spawn will be notable as the brand’s first large-series electric car when it enters production in 2018.

The Audi e-tron quattro concept is designed from the ground up as an electric car and proves to be pioneering in its segment at the very first glance. It follows the Audi “Aerosthetics” concept, combining technical measures for reducing aerodynamic drag with creative design solutions. Movable aerodynamic elements at the front, on the sides and at the rear improve the air flow around the car. The aerodynamically optimised underbody is completely closed. With a cd value of 0.25, the car sets a new record in the SUV segment. This contributes considerably to the long range of more than 310 miles (500 kilometres).

The study is based on the second-generation modular longitudinal platform, which provides considerable scope for the drive system and package. Its length

    • SEAT wins fleet contract to supply the Italian Polizia di Stato and the Carabinieri
    • Fleet to be Leon 2.0 TDI 150 PS; extensive special equipment with armour protection
    • Major international growth in fleet business for the SEAT brand

SEAT has won the fleet contract to supply new Leon cars to the Italian police forces, Polizia di Stato and the Carabinieri. The first 206 vehicles have already started being handed over, with an initial 106 service vehicles being delivered to the Carabinieri and a further 100 to the Polizia di Stato. Overall, the contract includes the option for up to 4,000 vehicles over the next three years. So far, they have taken orders for 925 cars, split between 475 “panthers” (Polizia di Stato) and 450 “gazelles” (Carabinieri).

This marks the first time that both police forces have tendered and selected the same brand and the same vehicle. Major factors in this decision included the Leon’s low fuel consumption and emissions figures, as well as its high quality and excellent total cost of ownership – all core competences of the SEAT brand.

“We are honoured by the trust given by the Italian police in SEAT and the Leon. And we are very proud to be able to contribute thanks to reliable, secure and high quality vehicles to public safety,” says Jürgen Stackmann, Chairman of the Executive Committee of SEAT. “The contract is also a good example of the great success and major growth of the SEAT brand within the fleet business sector.”
