    • Collector’s model celebrates Arabian Gulf’s pearl diving heritage
    • Mulliner to handcraft just five exquisite cars
    • Intricate marquetry using luxurious Mother of Pearl
    • Unique pearl diving dhow boat design inlay in dashboard fascia
    • Breitling dashboard clock embossed with Mother of Pearl
    • Mulliner Biometric Secure Stowage for added security

Bentley has created the ultimate collector’s model inspired by the Arabian Gulf’s rich pearl diving heritage, with a personal commission for a Middle Eastern customer – the Bentayga Mulliner Pearl of the Gulf.

Just five of these exquisite W12-powered cars will be handbuilt by Mulliner’s craftspeople in Crewe, England, each featuring unique Mother of Pearl and Arabian Gulf-themed motifs.

Each model has a bespoke interior that celebrates the Arabian Gulf’s history of pearl diving, a tradition that dates back millennia and was once the region’s main economic driver. Most notably, intricate marquetry to the Dark Fiddleback Eucalyptus fascia features a pearl diving dhow boat scene, beautifully inlayed with Mother of Pearl.

The luxurious cabin is appointed with Linen main hide and complemented by Brunel secondary hide – a colour scheme inspired by the natural beauty of pearls – with a Mother of Pearl Breitling clock the dashboard centrepiece.

Camel and Brunel contrast stitching is employed for the quilted seats and door inserts, while gold thread embroidery highlights this Bentayga’s pearl diving credentials. Lambswool rugs are also cut in matching Linen, while Mulliner illuminated treadplates welcome

    • ŠKODA is testing deliveries to boot of your car for online purchases
    • The pilot is starting in the Czech Republic, the home of ŠKODA
    • Parcel couriers are provided with secure access to the car boot
    • Data encryption and stringent access management guarantee security for data transmission and completing the delivery

UK consumers looking for the ultimate convenience could soon be giving their car’s location and number plate as their new delivery address. The car manufacturer’s innovation team, ŠKODA DigiLab, has developed a system whereby the courier will place a parcel delivery directly into the boot of their ŠKODA. The technology required for remote access to the car is currently being tested in the pilot scheme.

The ŠKODA DigiLab was set up by the car manufacturer in 2017 to focus on the next stage of mobility, connectivity and digitalisation solutions for the car industry. DigiLab has partnered with two of the biggest online retailers in the Czech Republic, and, to trial a new delivery scheme with the view to bring the technology to UK consumers in the future.

ŠKODA’s recent strides in in-car connectivity has enabled the brand to bring to fruition the new delivery method, which works by giving the online retailer permission to deliver packages to their car via a mobile app. When an order is placed, the car’s location is displayed to the courier via GPS for delivery. Using the app, the courier is then granted one-time-only, secured access to open

    • Iconic racing Bentley of pre-war years
    • Ground-breaking 4˝ Litre model forever linked to dashing ‘Bentley Boy’ Sir Henry ‘Tim’ Birkin
    • Supercharged engine dramatically boosted power of late 1920s car
    • Blower’s legendary performance broke Brooklands lap record

As British luxury car manufacturer Bentley marks its centenary year, the company’s drive for innovation can be traced throughout its history.

The legendary ‘Blower’ Bentley, with a supercharged engine, was sensationally quick in 1929. Especially with Bentley Boy, Sir Henry ‘Tim’ Birkin, sat behind the steering wheel.

Birkin and the Blower are intrinsically linked together in this sepia-toned era of British motor racing history. It was Birkin’s quest for speed that created the Blower, later recording heroic drives at the Le Mans 24 Hours and the French Grand Prix. He also broke the
Brooklands outer-circuit lap record, the most coveted racing circuit of the time.

The supercharged engine ultimately ensured the 4 ˝ Litre model became the most iconic racing Bentley of the pre-war years. The Blower won Bentley a legion of motor sport fans around the world and to this day remains a symbol of the company’s innovative prowess.

    Pushing the Boundaries of Performance

The Bentley 4˝ Litre was nearing the end of its development cycle by 1928, as other manufacturers finally began to catch up with founder W.O. Bentley’s superlative engine design. W.O.’s response was to increase the engine capacity, and his 6˝ Litre model won Le Mans in 1929 and 1930.

However, racing driver Sir Henry Birkin, who was already a schoolboy hero across Britain for his considerable achievements on the track, had another idea. ...

500 limited-edition junior Bugatti cars built to celebrate the brand’s 110th anniversary

The car that brought Automobiles Ettore Bugatti to fame in the 1920s, the Bugatti Type 35, is generally acknowledged as the most successful racing car of all time. During its long career it won around 2,000 professional and amateur races, averaging more than fourteen per week at its peak. In 1926 Ettore and his son Jean decided to build a half-scale Type 35 for Ettore’s youngest son, Roland, on the occasion of his fourth birthday. Now, on the occasion of the company’s 110th birthday, Bugatti and Junior Classics are reviving the idea of the Bugatti ‘Baby’, presenting the first 3D-printed design model on the Bugatti stand at Geneva International Motorshow.

What Ettore and Jean had intended as a one-off car, became an official Bugatti vehicle. The feedback from customers visiting Molsheim had been so positive that it went into production and was sold between 1927 and 1936. The Bugatti ‘Baby’ was born. Cherished by Bugatti enthusiasts worldwide, today no collection is complete without a Baby. However, with only around 500 ever made, they have been the preserve of the lucky few. Until now.

The Bugatti Baby for a new generation

To celebrate Bugatti’s 110th anniversary, we are introducing the smallest member of the Bugatti family: the Baby II. A contemporary tribute to Ettore’s masterpiece, the Baby II will be a strictly limited run, just like the original: only 500 cars will be built. Unlike the original, which was only suitable for the youngest drivers, the Baby II is a three-quarters-size

    • Dynamic VISION iV is ŠKODA’s next step towards eMobility
    • All-electric crossover coupé with a power output of 225 kW (306 PS) and all-wheel drive
    • Look ahead at ŠKODA’s first production car to be based on the MEB platform

The all-electric VISION iV concept study offers a look ahead at ŠKODA’s electric future. By introducing its first vehicle to be based on Volkswagen Group’s MEB modular electric car platform, the Czech brand is taking the next step in its journey towards eMobility. The four‑door crossover coupé impresses with sporty, emotive lines and exudes a feeling of spaciousness. A dynamic driving experience is ensured by all-wheel drive and two electric motors outputting 225 kW (306 PS).

The VISION iV is 4,665 mm long, 1,926 mm wide and has a height of 1,613 mm. Dynamic lines lend it a sporty appearance. Even from the outside, the interior’s spacious feel is evident from the new proportions created by a short bonnet and a long passenger cabin. The VISION iV offers a concrete preview of ŠKODA’s first production car to be based on Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform.

Reinterpreted ŠKODA grille and a horizontal light strip

The concept car features a horizontal light strip that – running across the reinterpreted, wide, covered ŠKODA grille that has delicate vertical slats and crystalline structures – spans the entire width of the vehicle and connects the Matrix LED headlights. The athletic side view of the VISION iV is shaped by bold wings and a coupé-like roofline. The doors do not have any handles – just a touch will open them automatically. Classic wing mirrors have been replaced by cameras providing a 180-degree view which is relayed in the rear-view mirror. The multi-level arrangement of the instrument panel and centre console as well as a seemingly floating screen add a new dimension to the interior.
