Bentley Motors is today announcing full details of the new Bentley Flying Spur V8 S Black Edition – the car of choice for customers seeking a luxury performance saloon with a more dynamic aesthetic.

The suite of striking exterior and interior features have been created by the British brand’s designers to reflect the car’s sporting character. Power outputs of TFSI, TDI and e-tron models to be denoted by two numbers starting this autumn with the all-new A8

    • Designations taking effect worldwide for all drive types
    • Clearly defined hierarchy in each model series
    • Audi A8 the first model with new type designation

Audi is adopting a standardised nomenclature for the power output designations of its model range which will apply worldwide. The names of the model series – from Audi A1 to Audi Q7 – will remain unchanged. Within the model families, combinations of two numbers will replace the various type designations previously used. The new designations stand for the specific power output and apply both to cars with combustion engines and to e-tron models with hybrid and electric drives.

The reference value for the new model designations is the power output of the individual model in kilowatts (kW). Audi is therefore creating sub-classifications within the range based on performance levels, each identified by a two-numeral combination. For example, the numeral combination “30” will appear on the rear of all models with power outputs of between 81 and 96 kW (110PS and 130PS). And “45” represents power outputs of between 169 and 185 kW (230PS and 252PS). In each case the numerals appear along with the engine technology indicator – TFSI, TDI, g-tron or e-tron.

The number combinations identifying the performance levels in the Audi product range increase in increments of five, and they represent the hierarchy within both the respective model series and ...

Bang & Olufsen 3D Advanced Sound System will form part of the luxurious specification available on the all-new Audi A8, arriving in late November

    • 3D sound for the first time in the rear of the fourth-generation luxury saloon
    • 23 loudspeakers, including four for the spatial dimension of height
    • Close cooperation with Bang & Olufsen and Fraunhofer Institute
    • Sound settings can be easily customised via the MMI touch controls or by using the removable tablet located in the central rear console

Listening to music becomes a sensory experience in the new Audi A8. The Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System now also brings the unique acoustic character of pure 3D sound to the rear seats. The brand with the four rings thus offers first-rate sound quality in the top segment.

Luxury is audible. The new generation of the Audi A8 demonstrates this in impressive style – with the Bang & Olufsen 3D Advanced Sound System. It supplies 23 loudspeakers featuring ultra-light and therefore low-distortion neodymium magnets that produce an airy, high-resolution sound pattern. The effect is impressive, especially when reproducing a classical concert of high recording quality: The interior is transformed into a broad stage where the music unfolds exactly how it was recorded in the concert hall – without any artificial effects.

The sound is authentic and emotional. That is the top priority of Audi’s audio specialists, making sound quality a fitting reflection of the brand philosophy.

    The sound system in detail

The brand with the four rings first introduced 3D sound in the Audi Q7 in 2015. In the new A8 it now extends the evolutionary version ...

Quattro all-wheel drive can now be combined with petrol power for the first time on the all-new Audi Q2

    · Q2 2.0 TFSI quattro 190PS S tronic now available to order
    · Can be specified on S line and the top-flight Edition #1
    · 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds, 141mph top speed, 144g/km and up to 44.8mpg combined
    · Priced from £31,760 OTR to £36,750 OTR

Audi is broadening the appeal of its Q2 compact SUV this week with the addition of a new version notable not only as the most powerful in the range but also as the first petrol-powered model to be underpinned by surefooted quattro all-wheel-drive. Offered as an alternative to the 150PS 2.0 TDI quattro model which was introduced late last year, the new Q2 2.0 TFSI quattro 190PS S tronic is now available in S line and Edition #1 specification.

The new 2.0 TFSI produces the highest power output currently available in a Q2, facilitating acceleration to 62mph from rest in 6.5 seconds - the fastest sprint time in the range. Top speed also reaches an impressive 141mph.

Ensuring optimal traction and handling under any road conditions, the quattro system’s electrohydraulically actuated multi-plate clutch distributes torque continuously between the axles. Its seven-speed S tronic incorporates a freewheeling mode when the standard Audi drive select handling system is set to “efficiency” mode, and with the start-stop function, the engine already shuts off when speed drops to 4.3mph.
Both contribute to up to 44.8mpg combined and 144g/km when chosen in S line specification, ...

Enhanced five-door RS Sportback is joined by all-new saloon variant in UK Audi Sport line-up

    • New RS 3 Saloon and Sportback models now available in the UK priced at £44,300 OTR and £45,250 OTR – first deliveries in September
    • 2.5 TFSI aluminium engine with 400PS and 480Nm of torque (354 lb-ft)
    • Both variants - 0-62mph in just 4.1 seconds and optional 174mph top speed
    • Wider track compared to the Audi A3 and signature RS design cues
    • Characterised by the world‘s most powerful series production five-cylinder engine

High performance subsidiary Audi Sport has taken a two-pronged approach to bringing 400PS to the compact car segment for the first time – the latest iteration of the redoubtable Audi RS 3 is about to touch down in the UK in familiar five-door Sportback form but also now as a striking Saloon. Both versions are now available to order, the Sportback priced from £44,300 OTR and the Saloon from £45,250 OTR. Common to both is of course the most powerful five-cylinder engine ever to empower a series production Audi, its formidable output unlocking a 0-62mph time of just 4.1 seconds and 174mph potential in each case and its unique-in-class configuration guaranteeing a melodious accompaniment to every mile.

The new, 26 kilogram-lighter 2.5 TFSI serves up 480 Nm (354.0 lb-ft) of torque alongside its mighty 400PS output, and makes all of it available at between 1,700 and 5,850 rpm. This is reflected in the 4.1-second sprint time and the top speed of 155mph which is achievable

in both versions, the latter being extendable to 174mph on request. The unique sound of the five-cylinder unit intensifies the driving experience, and that sound can be ...

All-new luxury saloon which pushes technological limits in numerous areas, including full driving automation, makes its world debut

    • World debut for flagship model at Audi Summit in Barcelona
    • New design language and a pioneering touch operating concept
    • Piloted driving functions to be rolled out in production Audi A8 versions from 2018
    • Available to order in the UK from September, UK pricing TBC, first deliveries in late 2017

Today is where the future begins in the luxury class: The new Audi A8 makes its world debut at the Audi Summit in Barcelona. In its fourth generation, the flagship model again sets the benchmark for Vorsprung durch Technik with a new design language, an innovative touchscreen operating concept and systematic drivetrain electrification. The Audi A8 is also the first production car in the world to have been developed for highly automated driving. From 2018, Audi will gradually be taking piloted driving functions such as parking pilot, garage pilot and traffic jam pilot into production.

Doyen of style: the exterior design

The new Audi A8 is stylistically defining – it signals the beginning of a new design era for the entire brand. The front end with its wide, upright Singleframe grille and the fluid, muscular body convey power, elegance, sophistication and modernity, and deliver on the promise made by the Audi prologue design study. The luxury saloon makes a suitably emphatic statement whether in 5.17-metre ‘standard’ form or as the A8 L, which has a 13 centimetre longer wheelbase.

The Audi brand is renowned worldwide for consistent innovation in design and engineering, for lightweight construction and for quattro permanent all-wheel drive – and every facet of the new A8 reflects these values.

    • Four new petrol engine options in Passat and Tiguan families
    • Previously diesel- or hybrid-engined Passat gains new units
    • Tiguan SUV petrol engine line-up is significantly expanded

Four efficient petrol engines are now available to order for the first time from Volkswagen Retailers in the popular Passat Saloon and Estate, and Tiguan SUV, model ranges.

The comprehensive line-up of new petrol engines now being offered in Passat and Tiguan further broaden the cars’ appeal while also allowing the growing numbers of buyers keen to enjoy the benefits of petrol power to consider two of Volkswagen’s most popular models.

The stylish Passat Saloon and Estate family enters this growing market sector with four petrol engines options, ranging from a frugal 1.4-litre TSI 125 PS to a potent 2.0-litre TSI 220 PS, and also including the impressive 1.4-litre TSI 150 PS with Active Cylinder Technology.

What’s more, for the first time the sporty R-Line trim is being made available with an entry-level engine in Passat. This broadens choice as well as making stylish R-Line ownership even more accessible – with the new 1.4-litre TSI 125 PS Passat R-Line a particularly attractive proposition for style- and budget-conscious buyers.

Hard-headed fleet and business users could be equally enamoured of the new petrol-powered Passats thanks to a strong set of benefit in kind (BIK) statistics.

When it comes to company car tax, the Passat 1.4 TSI ACT 150 PS SE Business six-speed manual, with an on-the-road price of £23,775 RRP, produces a BIK rating of 22% meaning a 40% tax payer would incur a tax charge of £6,880 over a typical three

Seven years is a long time for any model of car, but at the top end of the luxury segment it’s an eternity. That's how long it's been since the last generation Audi A8 was launched, but now we have news of its replacement.

When you’re spending upwards of £65,000 on a luxury saloon you expect it to not only drive well and be the ultimate palace of comfort, you also expect state of the art technology that those buying further down the food chain can’t even dream of.

To meet these uber high demands, Audi has just announced full details of their new, fourth generation 2017 A8 featuring “new design language, an innovative touchscreen operating concept and systematic drivetrain electrification”.

The real headline for this new flagship A8 is that it’s Audi’s big step towards a world of automated motoring with it being: “developed for highly automated driving”. With software updates coming in 2018, the A8 will have features such as parking pilot, garage pilot and traffic jam pilot.

Unlike the BMW 7 Series, the new A8 will be able to park itself into a space or garage while the driver just clicks a button from their smartphone – no actual remote control driving is required, which if you have tried the BMW system, you will know is a good thing.

Parking itself almost seems like quite a basic feature compared to Audi’s next bit of tech, the traffic jam pilot. This system allows, through the pressing ...
