    • Pickup concept based on the KODIAQ combines great usability and impressive design
    • Innovative design, lighting effects and new Simply Clever features are the highlights of the sixth Student Car
    • The project has been showcasing the high quality of the training at the ŠKODA Vocational School in Mladá Boleslav since 2014

35 apprentices from the ŠKODA Vocational School have reached the pinnacle of their training year: following eight months of intense work, they presented a spectacular pickup based on the ŠKODA KODIAQ in the shape of the ŠKODA MOUNTIAQ.
Sporting a specially designed Sunset Orange paint finish, this concept car impresses with numerous visual highlights such as a light bar on the roof and a distinctive front featuring a winch, bullbar and special lighting effects. For the sixth consecutive time, the project acts as a showcase for the apprentices’ technical skills.

A total of 35 ŠKODA apprentices from seven different career paths, among them six women, were involved in the development and production of the ŠKODA MOUNTIAQ. The sixth consecutive Student Car is a one-off and the remarkable result of months of work.

During the course of the project, the apprentices were supported by their instructors as well as ŠKODA experts from the Design, Production and Technical Development departments.

As Carsten Brandes, Head of the ŠKODA Academy, points out, “Like its predecessor models, the ŠKODA MOUNTIAQ highlights the exceptional technical competence and craftsmanship of our students. Year after year, their work demonstrates the superior quality of the professional training at our vocational school.”

    • SEAT Mii electric is the first electric vehicle from the brand, laying the groundwork for more to join the family in the future
    • Mii electric is the ideal vehicle for the city, mixing dynamic performance with practicality and a range of 161.5 miles (260km* WLTP)
    • Production of internal combustion engine Mii will close in July
    • Pricing for Mii electric will be announced Autumn 2019 in time for order opening

SEAT is starting its electric offensive with the introduction of the Mii electric. The shift towards electrified vehicles is gaining pace and SEAT is developing cars to meet the demands of a dynamic, ever-changing market while also maintaining the sustainability of mobility.

The Mii electric fuses dynamism, urban design, an advanced powertrain, and new levels of connectivity with affordability and low cost of ownership, to offer a vehicle that is ready to meet the challenges of the city and the needs of a new generation of customers.
SEAT’s first production all-electric vehicle also lays the groundwork for future members to join the family, with more EVs and PHEVs due in the near future, including the all-electric SEAT el-Born, plug-in hybrid versions of Leon, and high-performance plug-in hybrid versions of CUPRA Formentor and CUPRA Leon.

“The market is changing, and electrification is expanding at an unprecedented rate. In Europe, the electric vehicle market grew by 46% in the first 4 months of the year, moving forward we expect electrified vehicles to play an important role within our range,”
said Luca de Meo, President of SEAT. “The Mii electric is the start of that journey, and at the same time brings to the market an affordable electric car.”

Mii electric will help prepare SEAT’s dealer network for the expanding electrified market and the challenges it will bring, making ...

20 years after its debut, the Audi A6 allroad is ready to enter new territory yet again as the fourth generation of the multi-talented Avant waits in the wings, preserving its predecessors’ much loved flair for taking the rough impeccably smoothly and blending it into a new, even more refined and technologically sophisticated formula. • ŠKODA presents preliminary outlook for dynamic city SUV for Chinese market
    • The VISION GT is perfectly tailored to needs of Chinese customers with compact proportions, generous space and elegantly dynamic design
    • China is the only market worldwide where ŠKODA will soon be offering five different SUV models

ŠKODA is presenting a preliminary outlook for the next member of its SUV family in China at the Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao International Auto Show 2019, which is running until 9 June 2019. The VISION GT concept study is a city SUV perfectly tailored to the needs of the Chinese market. It combines compact dimensions with generous interior space, offering state-of-the-art technology features and emphasising its dynamic ambition through a sporty and elegant coupé design. ŠKODA will be presenting the production version of the VISION GT later this year. China will then be the only market in the world where the Czech carmaker offers five different SUV models.

ŠKODA continues its expressive SUV design language with the sporty, dynamic and emotional design of the VISION GT. The new vertical slats in the radiator grille stand out at the front. They mirror the light strip and create a dynamic, three-dimensional light-and-shadow effect. The sharply contoured Matrix LED headlights consist of six crystal-shaped elements, and together they form a flying arrow as a reference to ŠKODA’s traditional brand logo. With its gently sloping line, the black roof merges seamlessly into the coupé-like rear. The expressive design of ...

    • Extended test drive lets e-Golf settle in to customers’ lives
    • Initiative coincides with dynamic new e-Golf TV ad campaign
    • Extended drive time shows Volkswagen’s commitment to EV buyers

Volkswagen has introduced flexible, 48-hour test drives for prospective e-Golf buyers, allowing an in-depth experience of the brand’s highly prized electric hatchback.

Customers are now able to arrange a two-day e-Golf test drive, picking the car up from their local Retailer and dropping it back up to 48 hours later.

The move is the latest in a string of initiatives introduced by Volkswagen to encourage drivers to experience its range of electric vehicles – a range centred on the award-winning e-Golf and the forthcoming ID.3 which is due here next year.

The e-Golf starts at Ł30,340 RRP OTR1 in the UK, and has a range of up to 144 miles (WLTP). Its synchronous electric motor produces up to 136 PS and 393 lb ft of torque, both available almost instantly.

Naturally, as a zero-emission vehicle, the e-Golf is exempt from the Congestion and Ultra Low Emission Zone charges, while road tax is currently rated at Ł0 and running costs are considerably reduced versus those of petrol- or diesel-engined equivalents. To top off the savings for company car drivers in particular, the e-Golf will benefit from a Benefit In Kind rate that is slashed to just 2% from April 2020.

Volkswagen also recently launched the volkswagen.co.uk/electric section of its website devoted to informing customers about its electric and electrified vehicles, as well ...

    • T-Cross 95 PS, 1.6-litre TDI engine is most frugal in the line-up
    • Three engine choices now available in critically-acclaimed SUV
    • Diesel available in SE, SEL and R-Line trims, in DSG and manual

The newest member of Volkswagen’s extensive SUV family is gaining a frugal new engine option as the T-Cross is now available with a Euro 6 compliant 95 PS, 1.6-litre TDI powerplant. This extends the T-Cross engine options to three: two turbocharged petrol units and now one turbodiesel, and underscores the car’s mantra “I am more than one thing.”

The already fuel efficient T-Cross achieves 48.9 mpg1 in its most economical petrol form, but this rises to 52.9 mpg1 across both transmissions and all specs when fitted with the 1.6-litre turbodiesel engine – making it the most fuel-efficient SUV available in the Volkswagen line-up.

The 95 PS four cylinder 1.6-litre turbocharged diesel also has the highest torque peak yet seen in T-Cross, developing 250 Nm versus the 115 PS 1.0-litre TSI’s 200 Nm, across the same 1500-2500 rpm rev range.

Reflecting the flexibility of the engine, all trim levels bar entry-level S will benefit from the option of the 1.6-litre turbodiesel – from value-focused and equipment-packed SE to the sportier and more luxurious R-Line specification. Customers can also choose between a five-speed manual gearbox and a seven-speed DSG unit, although the majority are expected to take the manual option in the UK. The 0-62 mph time for the manual car is 11.9 seconds while the DSG-equipped car takes 12.5 seconds to cover ...

    • ŠKODA’s first all‑electric production vehicle in its 124‑year history
    • The zero‑emission city speedster is fitted with an electric motor with a power output of 61 kW
    • 36.8‑kWh lithium-ion battery enables a range of up to 265 km in the WLTP cycle

By launching the ŠKODA CITIGOe iV, the Czech car manufacturer is embarking on a new era – 124 years after it was founded.
As the first ŠKODA production vehicle, the four-seater city car is powered exclusively by a 61‑kW electric motor. This means the CITIGOe iV is powered not only purely by a battery, but also without generating any emissions. The 36.8‑kWh lithium‑ion battery allows for a range of up to 265 km in the WLTP cycle – meaning the CITIGOe iV is perfectly equipped for traffic in modern cities. Series production of the environmentally friendly city speedster will begin in the second half of 2019.

Zero‑emission, nimble and spacious despite compact dimensions, the ŠKODA CITIGOe iV is a perfect vehicle for modern cities. Despite being just 3,597 mm long and 1,645 mm wide, the smallest ŠKODA also offers a spacious interior for four passengers and a boot capacity of 250 l. The boot can easily be increased to 923 l by folding down the rear seats. The front‑wheel‑drive CITIGOe iV is ŠKODA’s first all‑electric production vehicle and features an electric motor with a power output of 61 kW. The maximum torque of 210 Nm – which is relatively high due to the drive concept – is available straight away, as is typical for electric motors. The short burst from 60 to 100 km/h therefore takes 7.6 seconds, while ...

In the year Bentley Motors celebrates its 100th anniversary, the British creator of extraordinary Grand Touring cars is promising to once again set new standards of both driving enjoyment and luxury when it reveals the all-new, third generation Flying Spur Grand Touring Sedan at 11:00BST on Tuesday, June 11.

This will be the very first Bentley to feature All-Wheel Steering enhancing both stability at cruising speeds and agility around town. During high-speed manoeuvres, the electronic system steers the rear wheels in the same direction as the front wheels, making overtaking and lane-changes more assured. All-Wheel Steering also means no compromise between high speed confidence and low speed convenience.

Like every Flying Spur of recent times, the third incarnation features All-Wheel Drive for optimum traction. For the first time, drive is supplied only to the rear wheels in standard road conditions giving classic sports sedan handling characteristics. If any slip is detected, the system can instantly send drive to the front wheels providing active All-Wheel Drive, fully automatically.

As the trailblazer for a new range of plug-in models from Audi, the Q5 55 TFSI e is about to make a suitably progressive statement by combining the economic and environmental benefits of electrified driving with the demand-led efficiency of quattro with ultra technology for the first time. A range of over 26 miles and a top speed of 84mph in electric-only mode enable the new hybrid Q5 to cover most everyday driving distances – including motorway journeys – without backup from the petrol engine. Available to order in the UK from the beginning of June, with first deliveries scheduled during quarter four of this year, the Audi Q5 55 TFSI e quattro will be priced at around Ł55,000 OTR.

The new drive concept combines a 2.0 TFSI four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine producing 252PS and 370 Nm (272.9 lb-ft) of torque with an electric motor. The permanently excited synchronous motor (PSM) has a peak output of 105 kW and peak torque of 350 Nm (258.1 lb-ft). It and the separating clutch are integrated into the seven-speed S tronic, which uses ultra technology to transfer the drive torque to the quattro drivetrain.
