The performance brand Volkswagen R represents the sportiest models in the Volkswagen portfolio. Since 2002, the R models have been at home on race tracks throughout the world and, in addition to high-performance engines, have offered their owners the combination of everyday usability and stylish understatement. Along with the Golf R in four generations, the portfolio includes the Passat R36, the Touareg R50, the Scirocco R and the Golf R Convertible. Aside from the Golf R1

Jost Capito, Managing Director, Volkswagen R, says: “Volkswagen R is all about excitement and thrill, and in the future, we will continue to focus our efforts on integrating these emotions into the Volkswagen brand. We are taking a strategic and operative approach to working on great products and creating a unique customer experience.”

    • British marque aims to become the world’s most sustainable luxury automotive manufacturer
    • 100% of electricity sourced for its site in Crewe, England, is from renewable generation
    • Factory headquarters certified by the Carbon Trust to PAS 2060 Carbon Neutral standard
    • Brand is accelerating its journey towards electrification
    • Bentley to offer hybrid variant of all models by 2023 and a BEV by 2025

Bentley Motors this week achieved carbon neutral certification for its factory headquarters in Crewe, England, taking another important step on its journey to become the world’s most sustainable luxury automotive manufacturer.

The certification from the Carbon Trust, which confirms that the company meets the internationally recognised PAS 2060 standard for carbon neutrality, reflects measures taken by the company to reduce the carbon emitted in its operations, including the use of renewable electricity. 100% of Bentley’s electricity is generated by either on-site solar panels or purchased as certified green electricity. All emissions that cannot be eliminated are compensated with high quality offsets.

Earlier this year, the UK’s largest solar car port, comprising 10,000 solar panels, was installed at Bentley’s factory site in Crewe. The installation has a capacity of 2.7MW and covers 1,378 car parking spaces - an area of 16,426m˛. Adding to the 20,815 roof top panels already fitted, it took the total on-site solar panel energy capacity to 7.7MW, enough to cover over 1,750 homes.

The achievement reflects almost two decades’ work to make the historic Crewe site as energy and carbon efficient ...

Acclaimed five-cylinder TFSI returns with even more power to two new high performance Q3 models engineered by Audi Sport

    • SUV and SUV coupé from Audi Sport available to order in the UK in late autumn 2019
    • Standard, Audi Sport Edition and Vorsprung specification levels
    • Award-winning five-cylinder unit: the 2.5 TFSI now with 400PS

The successor to the first, and currently only, series production Audi SUV to have sported the emotive RS badge is waiting in the wings not only with a significantly more powerful version of the first generation car’s hallowed five-cylinder TFSI engine on board, but also with a new and highly appropriate Sportback body style option. The new 400PS RS Q3 and its even more curvaceous RS Q3 Sportback counterpart are set to become available in the UK in late autumn 2019 with a choice of ‘standard’, Audi Sport Edition and Vorsprung trim levels, and will be delivered to their first customers here towards the end of the year.

“The first Audi RS Q3 established its own segment. We aim to continue this success story with the new generation of the compact high-performance SUV,” says Oliver Hoffmann, Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH. “With the offering of the all-new Audi RS Q3 Sportback, a progressive SUV coupe crossover, we are the trendsetter and are leveraging to the full the phenomenal growth potential for Audi Sport.”

    Athletic: the exterior

The Audi RS Q3 and the Audi RS Q3 Sportback are synonymous with strength and outstanding performance - virtues that are also reflected in their design. The borderless Singleframe grille with its three-dimensional honeycomb structure in gloss black is inset deeper and directly into the RS bumper with its large side air inlets, and the striking ...

ŠKODA has announced final prices and specifications for the all-new Kamiq – the brand’s latest addition to its award-winning SUV line-up. Packed with advanced technology and delivering a host of ingenious ŠKODA design features, the new Kamiq costs from just Ł17,700 OTR.

Positioned below the Kodiaq and Karoq in ŠKODA’s three-model SUV line-up, the new Kamiq perfectly combines practicality with agility and brings ŠKODA’s traditional attention to detail and intelligent packaging to a whole new audience.

    • Volkswagen’s most popular car has gained three trim levels
    • Match Edition, GT Edition and R-Line Edition all bring added value
    • Two-zone climate control, Winter Pack and LED headlights included

The Volkswagen Golf is now available with three new trim levels: Match Edition, GT Edition and R-Line Edition, all benefiting from a suite of extra equipment over the outgoing trims on which they are based. These extra features represent a healthy dose of added value for the seventh-generation Golf, the UK’s second best-selling car.

The three new trim levels replace the existing Match, GT and R-Line specs, and cost Ł400 more than the trims they replace. They build upon their predecessors’ already generous standard equipment, adding two-zone climate control, LED headlights and Winter Pack (including heated front seats) – optional extras worth Ł1,910 when equipped individually.

These options enhance the comfort and visible qualities of the three Golf specs, with the added luxury of the two-zone climate control over manual air conditioning, while the heated front seats included in the winter pack provide further comfort. The winter pack also adds headlight washers, heated windscreen washer jets and a low washer-fluid warning light which, combined with LED headlights, optimise visibility at all times – especially during winter months when road grime can obscure a driver’s view.

As per Volkswagen UK tradition, Edition trim levels are introduced as a product nears the end of its current generation. With the ground-breaking eighth-generation ...
