    The ŠKODA KAROQ is a completely new compact SUV.
    The emotive and dynamic design with numerous crystalline elements characterises ŠKODA’s new SUV design language. As a true ŠKODA, the ŠKODA KAROQ offers exceptional space in the interior and boot, new driver-assistance systems, Full LED headlights and – for the first time in a ŠKODA – a digital instrument panel. Five engine variants are available from 85 kW (115 hp) to 140 kW (190 hp), of which four are new. Features such as the rear-seat VarioFlex system and virtual pedal for the hands-free opening of the boot are additional smart ideas for the brand’s new compact SUV.


    It is clear from the exterior shape, modified lines and larger dimensions that this is a completely new vehicle. The ŠKODA KAROQ is a sports utility vehicle with character: The emotive and dynamic design with numerous crystalline elements characterises ŠKODA’s new SUV design language.


    The compact SUV measures 4,382 mm in length, is 1,841 mm wide, and 1,605 mm high. The long wheelbase of 2,638 millimetres (all-wheel version: 2,630 mm) gives the ŠKODA KAROQ a comfortable stance on the road. The increase in size benefits the passengers. The legroom is 68 millimetres.

    As a website, we’re here because of a love for Volkswagen Group products from the entry level right the way through to Porsche, Lamborhini and Bentley, but up until now there’s never really been a car covers that whole spectrum within one model. That’s all changed now that Skoda have unveiled their first SUV, the Kodiaq.

    While many manufacturers have been creeping more and more upmarket, Skoda have been busy making some of the best value family cars you can buy. With it’s hot vRS versions, the Octavia is a popular choice for everyone from petrolheads to taxi drivers, and with the third generation launched in 2015 the Superb is currently the biggest estate car for sale in the UK.

    All this while Volkswagen and Audi have been generating all the group SUV sales in this burgeoning market with their Touareg, Tiguan, Q3, Q5 and Q7 models – it was time for Skoda to shine.

    Sitting between the Tiguan/Q3 and Touareg/Q7 in terms of size, the Skoda Kodiaq is a seven seat (standard on SE L or above) SUV built in the VW MQB platform. This means that it’s 4,697mm long (40mm longer than Octavia), 1,882mm wide and can have up to 104mm of legroom in the rear. In other words, it’s a very spacious car without being a massive, full-size SUV.

    Audi is to expand its portfolio with two new Q models and has announced where they will be built: Production of the Audi Q8 will start in Bratislava (Slovakia) in 2018 and the first Audi Q4 will drive off the assembly line in Győr (Hungary) in 2019.


    “We will integrate two completely new Q‑models into the existing production network and will thus increase our competitiveness in an extremely important segment,” stated Audi’s Board of Management Member for Production and Logistics, Prof. Dr. Hubert Waltl.


    With the Audi Q8, the brand will open up a new segment for its top-end models. The premium SUV in a coupe style combines great spaciousness with emotive design and offers the latest technologies in assistance and infotainment systems. Audi will produce the model in Bratislava as of 2018. The Audi Q7 has already been produced at the Slovakian plant since 2005. Meanwhile, the second generation of the large SUV is in production there, as an S version and as the Q7 e-tron plug-in hybrid.

    Volkswagen is expanding its model range with the debut of an avant-garde gran turismo: the new Arteon. Positioned above the Passat, the premium class Arteon is being revealed to a global audience for the first time at the Geneva International Motor Show (9 to 19 March). Klaus Bischoff, Volkswagen Head of Design: "The Arteon combines the design elements of a classic sports car with the elegance and space of a fastback. An avant-garde business-class gran turismo, it speaks to the heart and the head alike."

    At the 2017 Geneva Motor Show advanced Electrically Powered Compressor (EPC) technology first used by Audi in the SQ7 TDI will flex its muscle in a TFSI petrol engine for the first time in the Audi Q8 sport concept. Demonstrating the vision Audi’s developers and designers have for the dynamic yet efficient SUV of tomorrow, the latest Q8 study combines its EPC with a six-cylinder TFSI and a mild hybrid system – a world first that enables it to deliver an exceptional 476PS output with the efficiency of a four-cylinder equivalent.

    Augmented by the compressor and Mhev system the 3.0 TFSI engine powers the Q8 sport concept from 0 – 62mph in just 4.7 seconds and keeps going until it reaches its top speed of 170mph. Meanwhile, its range of more than 745 miles ensures it is also suitable for long journeys. Thanks to the superb recuperation performance of 20 kW, this imposing SUV holds a considerable fuel economy advantage over a model equipped with a regular TFSI six-cylinder engine without mHEV system, and its CO2 output also shows a 25 g/km improvement.
