Make sure it has a good service history, check the front tyres there are prone to wear on the inner edges also check the scuttle area for water there is a drain under the heater blower which on early models blck up and cause the area to fill with water and corrode the wiring harness.

i know this is an old threadbut it will stand future buyers in good stead..these are a fantastic car but are a bitch to work on..

the gts have plastic airpipes over the gearbox on the pre 08 models that go brittle and crack with heat and cause problems and emls and lumpy running..engine out job and best to re place with steel pipes or reroute as the later models are..

starter motor failure is another bitch of a job, again nearly an engine out job. side lights bulbs are an absoulute nightmare to change..window winders are fragile, tpms are just ridiculously fragile and best bypassed in my mind..headlinings can sag and are quite a job to put right..all the windows are double glazed and they can get ingress marks around the edge which looks unsightly.

infotainment units are occasionally problematic with sticking control knob and the rear screen light display does go but can be diy repaired once you have located the right repair part, they cost about a tenner but dealers charge up to 500 to repair, also the telephones on these are difficult to upgrade with silly cost and cds are a bit dated now so needs additional sd card or such like adding .

sat nav is slow by todays standards but you can still upgrade the disc to about 2014 i believe using gm/landrover disc.

petrol flap drain hole needs clearing often as does the under wiper area as it is prone to leaf blockage roung the plenum chamber and this will cook the ecu and end up with a seriousley expensive repair, up to 5 grand in some cases iv known of so please keep it cleared especially around autumn and fall, same applies to boot drains under the electric spoiler.

rear brake lights on the rear screen are made from toffee and again are a pig to repair, check it well.

central locking can become touchy especially if water has got around the ecu as described earlier, any signs clear out under wiper scuttle and dry out asap and keep fingers crossed.

wiper arm joint knuckles wear like lots of other cars and they replace only the complete unit at bentley , so check well and if yours fail try and replace the knuckles first.

history is paramount when buying one of these, there are plenty of pigs around at 20 grand, steer clear if they do not have lots of paperwork, they are expensive to run and repair so dont think youll get lucky and it wont cost a bean, very very unlikely.

now the good bits..they are amazing cars to drive with an unbelievable presence, and most people love and respect them, but some will not like you because you have one ..be warned.

i still love mine every time i go past it and everytime i drive it, it is exhilarating and i think the most enjoyable car i have owned and i have been through a few, but dont try it on a budget and be very picky when purchasing, there are a lot out there to choose from. good luck
