Hi all i have a 150 tdi bora and was thinking about getting it chipped untill i came across these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TDI-TUNING-Chip-Box-38-VW-Golf-V-Jetta-Caddy-Passa-/260484492730?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3ca615edba
Anyone have any idea if these are reliable or even work???
Thanks for any comments.

Hi mate,
Had my 3.0 tdi remapped using Revo software and it's like driving a new car . Gone from 220 BHP to 277BHP with a lot more torque. Improved mpg slightly.
Cost was £499 + VAT

avoid them like the plaque.
you need a remap,or a "proper"tuning box like a stienbaur (spelling isn't
my forte).
then pray you don't wipe the clutch out before the cam goes!
the 150 doesn't exactly have a good reputation for reliability in standard guise, unless looked after meticulously, but the cheapo units off ebay will only throw more fuel through, while the timing won't be altered any.
plenty of our sponsers can help you with this,
