The VIN number is on the badge just inside the windscreen; how does the Beetle newbie establish the paint code or colour name (since the shade of red on my 2000W model doesn't match those on the VW website) to order a touch-in paint kit, etc. ???

Have a look in the boot. There should be a data sticker in the area of the spare wheel well which has the paint and trim codes, etc on it. Should be something like LY3H.

Apart from going to a VW Dealer, does anyone have a link to any sites where you can pop in the code and hey presto the paint colour pops up?:p please, mines LC9Z!
