Hi,

Being a newbi im hoping someone might be able to fill in the gaps for me!

I have read nearly all the threads regarding the a4 b5 however im getting more confused by the minute!

I understand there is a system for plugging into the AUDI A4 1997 1.8SE to check for faults, what i don't know is what faults this can diagnose and how reliable this system is.

For example as my previous post has said i have a slight hunting comming from the engine whilst driving, will it diagnose this?

I have just serviced the cat but the In 1 light is on the dash, can the system turn this off?

If so can i buy this system? Will it cost more than my car to buy!!?? What do i have to buy leads, prog (or freeware), how do i interpret the codes?

Or is this mainly for the specialists?

Your help will be much appreciated

the system is called vag-com can be bought from here

www.ross-tech.com (http://www.ross-tech.com)

You can also buy a 3rd party cable and use shareware version of the above software.

www.gendan.co.uk (http://www.gendan.co.uk)

if you look on this site there are also instruction for reset the IN 1 inspection service indictor wihtout using any software.

Vag-com can help diagnose your hunting buy telling when certain sensors are reading out of spec.

Hope this helps

Yes thats the one you want, I would buy a cable and download the freeware version first. just so you can try it out, then register it later.
