fault code p3103 v157

Hi I got the yellow engine light and emmissions workshop coming up on the dash.After reading the codes and finding fault code p3103 v157 manifold flap motor no signal I did some reading on here and decided to spend £216 at euro carparts and buy and fit a new manifold flap and motor and guess what engine light and emmissions workshop and same codes coming up after clearing them:confused:. So I decided to check the connections and they looked ok until I peeled the wiring back and found a broken cable obviously the one that sends the signal to the ecu as the flap was working, opening and closing as it should.I re-soldered the wire and all is well but I am wondering how a cable can just break!!:zx11: without any help and also I now own a spare throttle body:mad:

rule of thumb - check every possible , before splashing out the hard earned.

i know what you mean but the break was about 2 inches up inside the wiring cover I just cannot think how it would break but it did

Strange thing is there is a fault code for that. It's p3102 instead of p3103. Bl**dy typical that you get the "Malfunction" code instead of "No communication" code, which would have been more helpful.
