VW Bora 2.3 V5 150bhp

Hi,

Looking to purchase a 2.3 V5 Bora, '99 on a T reg. Looking for some tuning options for this model that are resonable sensible and are both effective for performance and the pocket. Also wandering if anyone knows of any major problems to be aware of with this engine.

All input is most welcome as I have only owned 1.8 and 2.0 NA engines in the past.

listen for noises at gearbox end of engine as this is a sign of cam chains wearing(common)
remap/exhaust/air filter
personally i would plump for a 1.8 turbo engine(golf)over the 2.3 v5
firstly engine more tunable its a lighter engine so if driven hard doesnt suffer from heavy front end dig in
the best bora is the v6 4motion if you can find one
the economy is about the same as v5 and allready has more power
