Hi all.

Ive recently bought a 1992 MK3 Golf 1.8 CL
(Engine AAM Singlepoint Injection)

On cold mornings it will not start. The engine turns over fine but will not fire

If I try later in the day it's starts fine. It only seems to be on cold mornings when there is frost on the car. Ive checked for sparks and everything seems fine (distributor, spark plugs, coil). Im thinking its a fuel injection problem / cold start type thing.

I don't know much about fuel injected cars as Im used to working on old Suzuki motorcycles LOL

So if anybody could enlighten me I would greatly appreciate it :biglaugh:

Thanks for your time.

Gavin

could be moisture in the dizzy cap not giving a good enough kick to fire it up!

single points as far as i know put pressure on the fuel going in to the carb,if this is right(and someone please say?) then i could be fuel filter or pump?

does it run ok when started while still cold?

It was the water temp sensor! Went out to car at weekend and it wouldnt start. Disconnected water temp. sensor and Golf started straight away. So I bought new sensor at lunch (£28) and will fit tonight. Thanks people [:D]
