2006 Jetta Shifting Noise

I own a 2006 VW Jetta TDI, purchased used with 58,000 miles on it. Approximately half the time, when the car goes from 1rst to 2nd (automatic transmission) I hear a "hoot". This seems to happen more often when I am going straight, but I have heard it both on right and left turns. Took it in to the dealer but of course they did not hear it. Any ideas out there? Thanks.

i had this on my 06 tdi jetta, manual gearbox though, it was the baffles in the centre section of the exhaust were caput,well thats what vw told me.common problem on passats aswell
