Vag-com Wont Communicate :-(

Hi all

I have been having problems with my alarm, I decided to buy a cable along with vag com software so I could have a look, the cable is a usb one, which lights up when plugged in. I have run the vag com software, run the test, it comes up with ok, but then I try to scan anything on the car, it seems to try all different baud rates etc to connect, but then comes up with "cannot communicate with controller" , has anyone had this issue, how do I fix it as I cant lock my car :-(

Is it a genuine cable or a dodgy e-bay job ?

Is it a serial or usb cable ?

What version vagcom are you running ?

Have you loaded the appropriate drivers from the Rosstech site ?

hi, thanks for the reply, its one i bought from e-bay, its using vag-com 409.1 , drivers all installed as per instructions, any ideas ?

Hate to say it but the cheapy leads are renonwed for having problems.
