Howdie all

Attempted to change my sparkplugs today.

I purchased some Bosch 4 prong jobbies.

When I removed the old plugs they were NGK platnum single point jobbies.

I fittd the new plugs

Re-assembled all the bits and bobs

Started car - cough cough, splutter splutter, die!!

Not too impressed

Dissasemble everything again, fit old plugs and all is ok again

Any Ideas?

Only use platinum plugs in this engine, they don't like or run well with anything else. You need a set of NGK PFR6Q plugs. Go to GSF or Eurocarparts or main dealer, don't fit anything other than platinum plugs or what's recommended.

Currently running Bosch F5DP0R plugs (as OEM fit these were on the RS2, a colder plug to run higher temperatures)

No need to run the colder plugs at that power, standard B5 S4 is 265bhp, 15 more than a std 2.7TT allroad, even the 380bhp std B5 RS4 had the NGK PFR6Q's in them. Mine needed changing at the time so went for the Bosch ones but TBH I don't notice much difference if any at all.

Replace with same and you should be sorted! :)
