golf 1.4 starting problems

have a 2000 mk4 that wont start when i check it with a dianostic reader i get a code 1316 but not sure what it is ive tried a new coil pack with no joy it dont even sound like its going to fire just turns over and over ive cleared the fault but it still comes back any ideas anyone thanks in advance.

should have said before i changed the coil pack the codes i was getting was 1316 1317 1321 also ive had a 282 code which is throttle body i guess.

What is your engine code or at least size and engne type?

That fault code you give is a P code, I think, not a VAG code.

sorry the engine is 1.4 code number is ahw im using audi vw tool version 2.0.9 because for some reason my vag-com wont connect to my engine hence the p code i guess and thanks again

There is no P1316 or P1317 for a 2000 AHW (0282 is for an 8 cylinder car) and 1321 is a knock sensor code for a car with at least 3 knock sensors so I do not think these are P codes, I do not know what they are.

well got it sorted now it turns out my tensioner packed up and my belt slipped so had to change a bent valve and renew belts and stuff so thanks for the help.
