Ok chaps and chapesses.

The other week i washed the car and was dismayed as to the sheer quantity of tar that had adorned my paint. So i ordered some mudflaps and have since fitted the front ones and i also bought some of this...

wash the areas of the car to remove any surface dirt.
here are 2 images showing the residual tar on my paint work.

Having followed the instructions on the bottle and with plenty of elbow grease and several hours (i did all 4 doors and the tailgate) these are the results following a 2nd wash.

I appreciate that the differences may not show up 100% in the photographs but the car looks completely different now.

That is the downside of a silver car, the effort does not show (in photos anyway). The up side is they stay and look cleaner for longer than any other colour. That is why I had three of them.

Now as a glutton for punishment, my last two cars have been black, which really do reward the effort BUT only for about five minutes !

That AG tar remover is good and smells nice.

The tar doesnt show on my car but I know its there because I can feel it after a good wash ..

None really on the doors but the arches are really bad ..

Thats certainly great stuff....I used it on my sons W reg 10 year old Renault Clio the other week and it just desolved away the tar and made a helluva difference. Like night and day....
Tardis seems to get a slightly better rep though:beerchug:

I wish mine had been that easy to remove! I used the Auto Glym after seeing this post although I still had to scrape at mine with my nail to get it off and there was a hell of a lot of it! (Before pic below) Looks well now though after its all been removed and polished up :D
