Hello everyone. I have a 1993 Audi 1.9tdi estate. A few days ago the clutch ceased to work in the normal way. I could only select 1st & reverse by putting them into gear before starting engine. I could then proceed up through the gearbox - all be it a bit of a struggle. Unable to ge back down the gearbox at all. All so when in gear (1st/reverse) with clutch depress and hand brake off the car will creep. This happened all of a sudden, clutch has not been slipping and bites with gusto.
A local autofactor suggested it maybe clutch slave or master. I have bled the system (pressurised - all brakes + clutch slave), but no change. Has anyone got any ideas or can confirm slave/master to be the problem.
One other thing...
can I replace slave without removing gearbox!!
