just had my auxiliary belt tensioner replaced after it went and my power steering etc went whilst driving home.

however before that there was a squeeking noise when we turned the car at full lock or at slow revs. we thought it was to do with the tensioner (which was on its way out when we removed it) however, with the new tensioner in...i still get the squeeking at full lock or low revs.

what could it be? it sounds like the belts slipping or something

It will be the alternator pulley. Drop the belt off the pulley the pulley should free wheel anti clock without turning the alternator.

you will need to put a screw driver into the alternator to stop the fan to do this check
