Supplementary Heating System

Hi, I have a VW EOS 140tdi with the supplementary (Auxiliary) heating system installed and one of the fobs for operating the system does not work, the leds flash but it doesnt operate the system. I have never used this particular fob before so it may have been programmed wrong initially. Is there a way of reprogramming these without going to the dealer? I understand there is a method for the reprogramming of door key fobs, anything similar for this.
