:1zhelp: My wife's recently brought a Corrado to replace her Scirocco (Now my track car:D ) and the wipers are c**p. I've heard there is an easy fix with Lupo wipers, can someone confirm and let me know which wipers I need, heard something about using 2 drivers side ones or something like that.
Cheers
Robin

Are they slow? maybe the mech need a good clean and re-greese.

No they're not slow, they do work better on the higher speed, but I've heard about the Lupo swap and was after some confirmation. It's listed as a common problem on another forum, with the Lupo conversion as a solution. Will probably go ahead and let everyone know how it goes,

yes it is a feasable swap.

but if you are handy with a dremmel type grinder, you can grind down the stops on the hinge section of the wiper arm a little bit on your existing wipers and that really improves them. and its cheaper too. though you might want to remove them from the car before you try.

From memory, when i owned a C. I had to buy a nearside and offside Lupo GTI wiper set and two driver arms. You have to swop the driver to passenger wiper and vice versa.
But it is a mod which is well worth it. Unless you go the Rainex route.

Has anyone done the aero wiper conversion, as I've seen these advertised for about £70 saying that they are corrado wipers that work, any confirmation on this.

Hi, not sure of the kit you have seen advertised. But if you just go to you local VW dealer and ask for 2 x driver side Lupo GTi aero wiper arms and a driver and passenger set of blades they will just swap straight over. RRP for the lot is about £90 but most people find that you can haggle with them. That and a headlight loom mod are a must for the Corrado

hi
if your still intrested i used tt arms and blades 2005 model drivers side only the passenger one requires a small bend on the blade end but easily done the difference is amazing even better than the lupo one which are great over standard the tt ones use aero2 wipers and have heavier spring and more sculptured arms it took about half an hour to do the whole job :beerchug:

Hi all, cheers for all the suggestions. I've done the aero conversion, which are just aero arms & blades that VAG make for the corrado, got them for £80 the lot delivered from Ebay (VWdirect). They work a treat. Only problem now is we now have a baby coming, so it'll be up for sale in a few months boohoo!

The ebay page is

Then its just a straight swap. Hope this helps.

Don't know, as far as I've read & understood it they are made for Corrado's. I've found them for sale in a few places, but cheapest are the guy on Ebay. Another place is

We haven't tested them in the rain yet, but have driven at speed & washed the windscreen, with none of the usual juddering & smeering. I think they work out slightly cheaper than the Lupo conversion, as I was quoted about £90 for that. Hope this helps

hi
sorry have not got back sooner the job was easy enough
you will need 8n2 955 408d ,8n2 955 425e you have 2 of each they are vag part numbers just bought them and they cost 82quid thats 2 drivers arms and 2 blades for a 2005 tt (make sure you push for some discount)the drivers arm on the corrado fits straight on no problem but the passengers side requires a slight tweak to make the blade follow the bottom of the screen and it put the blade under the drivers blade because they overlap slightly the arm bends at the end just below were the blade goes on hold the arm in a vice with plastic jaws or 2 blocks of wood as not to mark the arm and i bent the end with my hand its not a lot of a bend to make the wiper go under the drivers side you could alternatively cut the blade end a bit to clear the drivers one but this is more hassle and you would have to do this every time you needed a new blade , the conversion is better than the lupo one as the blades are aero2 and the arm are stronger and have heavier springs and better profiling you wont be disapointed if you need anymore info give me a shout
cheers paul

Cool, cheers for all the help, very simple mod 13mm spanner, flat head screwdriver & a pencil, 5 mins job done. They work very well & are slightly cheaper from ebay than a dealer. Oh and they're delivered leaving more time to tinker with the Scirocco.
