View Full Version : CAT fault, left bank on V6 4 Motion

OK - my car nearly always has the emissions warning light lit.

When it's sent to the dealer for investigation, the same diagnostic is always returned, low flow, pre-cat, left bank. The system is reset and it's ok for a random period of time - sometimes 1000's of miles, other times just a few before the fault is back.

The CAT after 113,000 is obviously beginning to fail. The thing is the car will still pass it's emissions test with the CAT not at 100% especially as my car is dual-fuel and therefore runs on much cleaner LPG majority of the time.

I don't really want to have to replace the CAT as they are so expensive here in the UK. Is it possible to get the diagnostic kit to ignore the low flow reading and not light up the emissions lamp - or is best to replace both CATs with a diffuser section?

What do you all think?
