I took my A4 2.0 TDi into audi for them to replace the faulty injector cost me £999.15 all in and got my car back filled my car up today and needle went to below half then has slowly crept up to between half and 3/4 is this something audi could have done whilst replacing the injector, injector unit and wiring loom? Could they have knocked something to give me a bad reading on my needle? funny how it starts after getting car back from audi..... Any ideas would be much appreciated !!

You get this a lot with BMW's and since re-mapping my Audi does the same.

If I fill up and start flooring it with heavy acceleration the fuel gauge drops down but then if I start to drive on the motorway and build up the MPG it slowly starts to creep it.

I think the cars estimate how much fuel you have left given your way of driving. If you were driving normally then I guess the ECU is still adjusting after the work and should return to normal soon.
