Golf Plus 2005 1.9tdi. (195/65 R15 91H)

I have Firestone F590 on the Front & Continental Contie Contact 3 on the Rear,

these with the car when purchased S/H.

Question, Good Wearing, Quiet, All Season, what should I buy??.:1zhelp:

(Rears to be replaced first and new tyres to be fitted on Front).

I have tried all sorts of makes and I lean very much towards Michelin now.

Possibly not the quietest but they do wear well. Expensive to buy but I think this probably works out ok in the end.

Hi daclyn,
I have Goodyear now, and they seem ok, and appear as a good compromise between grip, noise and tear. I will probably have to change them next year.

However, I think you can do better. You might want to have a look here: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/products/total_tyre_guide (http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/products/total_tyre_guide/213177/tyre_test.html#) This is fairly recent (I believe last year) - click on the "tyres on test" image in the right bottom corner.

Also, have a look at the Which Best Buys list (http://www.which.co.uk/reviews/car-tyres/best-buy/table/)- it appears that Continental tyres represent a reasonable compromise between price and quality - of course, you could go for Michelin if money is not an issue.

Please do let us know your experience when you change your tyres.
Best regards,
