I've just bought a '52 plate A4 TDI estate and don't seem to be able to get any air from the vents to the windscreen to keep the screen clear. I've tried both Auto and Econ mode on the heating/ventilation system but even with the fan on full power no flow can be felt from the vents to the screen (all other vents seem OK). Any ideas what the problem could be?

Thanks

Steve

'52 plate will be a B6 model.
If you have a search in the that section there are a number of posts about this sort of problem.
The air distribution flaps can stick or the motors failor the operating arms can break.
You can remove the glove box and check if the flaps move,or the lower trim on the drivers to see if they work that side..

Also, if you press the front screen button on the CC panel the air should go onto the screen and the fan speed increase.

Thanks for the quick reply Kite - wasn't sure whether it was B5 or B6 so will seach/post there! Should have said the car has been laid up for a few months which could be a contributory factor.

sometimes a scan with vagcom helps, look in the vagcom section for a member in our area.
Also with vagcom the motors can be cycled through in basic settings..
