The Fuse Panel on my Golf is nothing like the Picture in The VW Handbook.

Inside the car under the steering wheel is the fuse panel that is 18cm by 6cm.

This fuse panel is nothing like the one pictured in the book.

Any help please.:1zhelp:

What does the one in the book look like?
Is it like a rectangle with a corner missing from the bottom left?
If so, I think you have a manual for a golf rather than a golf+.

Jim.

Called to VW Main Dealer with Handbook and showed them the omission.

Engineer went away and supplied me correct Fuse Panel and Relay Drawings.

If anybody wants a copy I can scan them.

Hi, I have a Golf Plus, and the fuse box is not like the one in the handbook. 3 local VW dealers have said they can not print the layout for me??? Just wondering if anyone has a copy of the diagram and fuse layout for the Golf Plus 55 plate? Would be much appreciated.

Err.. yeah just found the same thing in my handbook! Only got the car today but the cigarette lighter sockets don't work and I'm guessing its the fuse could someone send me a copy of the diagram or let me know what number it is (now that I've actually found the fusebox!!)

Hi I would be grateful if you could please send me a copy of the fuse layout as I have the same problem on my 55 1.9tdi.

If you are unable to locate me on this forum, please email me at paul.hart0071@gmail.com

I seem to have exactly the same problem on our Golf Plus Mk5, only I'm an idiot so compounded it.

Interior light stopped working - not in the footwells but the most useful ones in the roof ;) - I looked at all the fuses and found one that had blown, removed it got a replacement and then looked at the diagram and thought "now which number was it again?".

If someone could forward me that diagram I'd be hugely grateful and I can then compare to what I've got.

My cigarette lighter has stopped working too, as well as the 12V outlet in the boot. The diagram in my hand book is similar to the fuse box in the dash, although the smaller fuses are on the opposite side to the diagram, and the fuse that it says should be for the cigarette lighter is empty :-/

I know this thread is really old, but I'm hoping someone still has this diagram or some idea what I should be changing?

Hi just did a parasitic drain test and found the fuse causing the drain on my VW Golf Plus 2006 1.9 TDI. Go to check the manual and the same problem as above, the Golf Plus fuse layout is as secret and precious as the coca cola recipe, while the normal golf fuse layout is as common as muck.

Can anyone post me the layout?

Thanks

I'm not sure if every fuse serves the same purpose, but the Caddy van has the same fusebox. That might be better than nothing, or it might lead you down a huge rabbit hole.

Thanks for the reply. Got it from elsawin. It didn't help much though I had a full diagram. Need a diagnostic scanner.

Vcds is too expensive at £199 and needs a laptop, odbEleven was better and cheaper at just £35 with a smartphone, but they have jacked prices up to £70.

Now looking at a £7 ELM327 PIC18F25K80 scanner that hopefully does VAG vehicles codes with the 'Deep ODB' app on google play! Fingers crossed.

Out of interest, what fuse was the current drain on?

What are you using the scan tool for? Seems like an odd tool to use to diagnose a drain.

Hi it was fuse 23. Light switch, rain and light sensor, magnetic field sensor and diagnostic port which was pulling 0.4A and just 0.04A (40mA)when taken out.
I have a headlight out btw. Obviously everything was off when testing for the drain.
Assuming a ecu is still alive because something is wrong so diagnostic scan will hopefully pinpoint ithttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191114/d89e23d7ef0078f5ceb08443c892070d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191114/045bbce4a1a71f1b5496c78cf7c7cc41.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191114/89ac99e0f86ddcc911f5b05c583a59df.jpg

Hi it was fuse 23.
Eh, you do realize the fuse you've highlighted is actually 43? Looks like there is no fuse in position 23 in your photo.

If your draw is on 43 you should try disconnecting the alarm siren. I've had a few issues with those in the past. I've never dealt with one on a Golf+ but on the standard Golf it's mounted behind the driver's front wing above the plastic wheel arch liner. To be honest on a 2006 car I would just toss the alarm fuse in the bin and live without the alarm.

Lol Not a bad idea with the alarm if that goes...
The fusebox panel is actually pictured upside down in the manual. (Another punishment for buying a golf plus over a standard golf is these tricks are played on you) I double checked and fuse 23 is a 10 Amp fuse (correct with the picutre) while 47 is not.
I talked it over with someone and its likely going to be a soleniod/relay which is set in the on position on that fuse side. I have to trace the circuit diagram on that side.

Yes, your correct. Fuse 23 is a 10 Amp fuse. A mini blade fuse according to the diagram you posted.
But it's not the 10 Amp fuse you've highlighted in your photo, because that is a standard blade fuse.

Look carefully. I've rotated your photo so it matches the fusebox diagram in the manual. The highlighted fuse is 43, which should actually be a 5A fuse.

Hi. Super late to this thread but I isolated the parasitic drains on my beloved 1.9TDI Golf Plus (2006) to two fuses (43 and 48), however it does not match up to the standard Golf manual that I have nor the images that have been posted on here. The diagrams on here show that fuse 43 as 30A, whereas it is only 5A in my car, and there are a few other discrepancies. I have attached an image of the darned fuse box in question and the diagram I found on here somewhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.376863768737688
