Thrust Sensor same as Map Sensor?

Hello
I have a A6 2.5Tdi 99 which has an intermittent power loss, i have checked it with VAG COM software and found a fault with the MAP sensor. I have been to Audi Parts to be told they not sure if its the Thrust sensor i need as there system didn't list a MAP sensor. I would be grateful for any advice.

Yes - Also referred to as the boost sensor more commonly. :) VW insist on calling it a thrust sensor which I can't but giggle at in an immature way.
