They don't make the Lupo anymore, it's the Fox. Never driven a Fox, but I don't find them nearly as likable, the whole character of it's different for me. Mrs Dudey's Lupo's ace, an 'R' version of it would have been super-diddly-uper. Perhaps we should make our own!! :p

I'm in the market for a Lupo or Polo (or a Seat Ibiza/Arosa) for my son. The Octavia is going.

The Lupos do look "quirky" and fun I must say.

Lupo, sadly, now has a scene tax attached to it, they're so few and far between.

why the micro mini choice? what about a polo/ibiza?

Well remembered that man! It's like a go-kart, tiny with no gears! Excellent fun.
I've no idea if they're rare or not, we found it on Auto Trader, it was the only one on there though.

I guess this is like the VW version of S-Line Trim or M-Sport trim option for BMW.

Nope, he's not gone off it, quite the opposite really. The way the insurance works, means that he can afford to learn to drive in it (it's the same 700 and odd price in the Octavia as it is in a 1.0 Lupo) but once he's passed, the price rockets up. Compared to a 1.0 Lupo/Seat Arosa, the price difference for insurance once he has passed is £1,000.

I want to keep it, he wants to keep it, but sadly that can't happen.

The good thing is it's got some value, I reckon between £1,500 and £1,750. It's only done a genuine 50k miles, not bad for a W reg Octavia!

The Octy has no buyer yet, I'm going to have to put in for another MOT to sell it, as it runs out in about a month. It will pass, I'm certain of that. I'm undecided whether to sell privately or trade it.

Funny you should mention the Ibiza. I've seen a couple of the newer shape ones on the autotrader, 52 reg ones at about £2k. For the same money, I'd be looking at a W, X or Y reg Polo, so I'm leaning towards the Ibiza. He prefers the Ibiza too.

The new Golf "R" has got some pretty impressive credentials when you compare it to the "R32". 0-60 faster, engine smaller more efficient, fuel economy down by 20%.
