Hey all,

Ive got a golf ft tdi (110) chipped to 150!

At motorway speeds or under hard acceleration my engine power dies!!

it goes into a limp home mode! it can be rectified by turning the ignition off then on again!!

I have replaced the map sensor and the air mass meter!!

still nothing!! i get no warning lights either!!

any thoughts would be appreciated!!

Get it on VAGCOM to read any codes and debug it properly.
See if you can find a member near you or make an investment in a cable and software.

Long Shot
Just check your turbo intake pipe for splits... seen it before when the limp home has cut in.
Cheers

Also check boost control valve and associated tubes for leaks/blockages.

If you have a pressure sensor in the ECU check the tube to the top boost pipe is not fouled/blocked.

Check the VNT mechanism/actuator rod is freely moving.

Check the seal on the vacuum assist pipe to the brake servo.

Check EGR valve and reduce its operation.

Check static & adaptation timing & fuel temp/temp sensor readings.

If you are sure your MAF is good, it is most probably a boost leak or gummed up turbo/N75 prob.

What mod's are you running?

10 to 1 its your MAF has got dirty on you. Give it a good squirt from an aerosol can of electrical contact cleaner. Leave to dry, no spin, check all pipes, hoses, VAG com as suggested but before you put it back check the state of your air-box, filter then refit. My air filter was not sealing properly and letting in all sorts of c**p. My whole inlet side needs a good clean out anyway after looking at the state of the gummy inlet manifold.

Limp mode could be over boost or maf or allot on thngs.

I agree with 'lex' you need the codes read first or you'll end up spending allot of money.

Thanks for all replies- All helped appriciated!!

Checked all the pipes- All is ok! + egr all ok!

Read the fault memory again since my first test!

now there is a fault with the boost pressure actuator!

is this otherwise known as a n75?

i will check the rod actuator and update!

The mods i have are:-
chipped to 147bhp
lowered 40mm
deep dish 18" wheels on 215/40/zr18
angel eye lights+ LED rear - not the ****** looking lexus copies!!
hoping to push it further with a oversize turbo and injectors, As soon as ive sorted this limp home fault out!

N75 is the vavle on the turbo, the actiator controls it. if the N75 is stuck you can get over boost or the actuator has failed.

Hi all, I am having similar problems with my golf... turbo used to cut out in any gear at a certain number of revs but since i replaced the vacuum actuator thingy ma job that is bolted near the air box and joins the egr valve it fly's until i reach about 80-mph in 4th or fifth gear then turbo cuts out again and only comes back in when i switch off ignition and on again. Any help much appreciated?
