Hi,new user.
The glowplug orange light does not go off even when the relay times out,is this just the relay or signs of something more serious.Where is the water temperature sensor as this seems to have an input to the relay according to the handbook.

Check the relays under the dash incase it is the relay. You may have a fusebox/relay fault as water from a leaking windscreen sometimes gets in. Have a good look and clean wires and relay terminals. I can't remember where the temperature sensor is but I think it was fairly obvious once the engine cover was off...You could try testing for 12v at the glowplugs. That will tell you if they are coming on and then going off or if they are saying on.

Many thanks Martin 1810, I hope to have a new relay by Tuesday but friendly auto elec couldn't get near the glopugs without dismantling the world.Any others out there who have had a similar problem ? The relay does click on and off but the light stays on.

They glowplugs are not hard to get to on mine, except the one behind the injection pump which I ignore. In theory the light can't stay on if the relay is ok but as I said before, the fuse box is prone to problems caused by water leaks.
