Hi Guys,

I have a strange problem with my 2000 VW passat estate that i was hoping someone maybe able to help me with. In the last week, there have been numerous electrically operated devices that have stopped working at the same time. These are:

1. Electric Windows
2. Electric wing Mirrors
3. Interior lighting
4. Heated seats
5. Electrically operated fuel filler flap

I am unsure if they all relate to the same issue or if there is some sort of connection Or lack of! http://www.vwforum.co.uk/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

I have tried all of the fuses in the panel located on the side of the dashboard and they are all ok. Are there any others located elsewhere or could it be a relay issue? i suppose a loose cable could not be ruled out either?

Hope you can help

Many Thanks

Darren

There are relays and fuses below the steering wheel.
Remove the lower dash - easier than it sounds:

Check for water in the plenum chamber - this can leak into the passenger footwell where the CCM is located - corroded wires/contacts can cause the probles you're having:

It definitely sounds like corroded wires to the central convenience module which is underneath the carpets and sometimes lying in a pool of water.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all of the advice. Carpet was wet but CCM was bone dry. Faults were due to rotten cables. Fixed them all and most of the issues have been resolved.

Now I only need to find the cause of the problems with the heated seats, heater fan and fuel filler flap motor.

Thanks again.
