Hello All

I have just retrofitted and RNSE plus and evrything is working fine. i have noticed the voice control button on the steeringwheel is working now and when pressed it states 'Speak' on the DIS screen. however it can never pick up what i am saying and just says pardon and then goes on to state the commands i can use.

I think i may need to make some changes with VAG COM?

Also i read i may need to install SDS, how do i do this?

And does the MIC in the light cluster need to be rewired?

Has anyone done this or now how i would fix this so that the voice control system works?

Thanks

it needs to be vaged also you need a mic
the mics ? in the light cluster are sensors
unless you have the BT fitted

I fitted RNS-E and then flashed it with the SDS firmware. If you bought an SDS enabled RNS-E then all you will need is the microphone which, as stated, is in the centre light console above your head. This then wires straight in to the RNS-E if you don't have BT.

The BT Audi mic costs about £65.

To be honest, the only thing I use a lot with it is spelling the navigation destination. Everything else is a bit of a gimmick. Like "Repeat last instruction" is a long winded way of pressing the right thumbwheel...
