Advice sought ref bike carrier for A3.

I am due to take delivery of a 5 door A3 sportback and would welcome some advice on bike carriers.
Which is best roof or a carrier on the rear hatch.
Any experiences/advice would be much appreciated.

Firstly, we would really need to know how many bikes you intend to be carrying, Are you looking for towbar mounted or roof mounted, is your towbar a flange or a swan neck?
