It's been one of those weeks! Anyway, came to the car this morning and remote bleeper wouldn't open doors. Thought it unlikely to be the battery as a new one was fitted last September. So tried the spare remote which had a new battery and that also wouldn't work.
Opened driver's door with key and engine started fine. I presume it's something to do with the remote receiver so I'll take it in tomorrow to my trusty local service station. I was just wondering though has anybody come across this and is it something which Audi dealer will have to solve?
Solution found!!!
Looked in the handbook (numpty) and discovered a solution. Apparently it just needed re-synchronising. For anybody who this happens to in the future this is what you do:
1 Use the key to unlock driver's door.
2 Press 'unlock' on the key fob
3 Insert key into ignition and switch on.
4 Switch off, remove key and press either lock or unlock.
Key fob will then be able to be used again as a remote.
